Actor Jude Law and director Martin Scorsese will visit Tokyo next week to promote their latest films. Law will attend the Japan premiere of "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (which opens on March 10), while Scorsese will be here to promote "Hugo" (which opens in Japan on March 1).
Law, who plays Dr Watson, is doing the honors since star Robert Downey Jr is unable to enter Japan due to his past convictions for drug use. Downey was last in Japan in 2008 to promote "Iron Man," at which time he was questioned for hours at Narita airport. Authorities relented and allowed him in, but informed him that he would be persona non grata for future visits.
Scorsese was last in Japan to promote "The Departed" in 2006.
Stars have recently started returning to Japan to promote their films. After the March 11 disaster, very few top stars came to Japan (unlike musicians), until Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise got the ball rolling again late last year.

Only 2 and a half months behind the States this time. Japan is ever so slowly catching up!

Who do you think the young women will be screaming for, Law or Scorsese?

Jude Law....one of the finest actors around. So, JT, where can we see him and at what time?
my2sense
great...can't wait for the special talent show talking about their hairlines in depth. Martin was classic in the taxi in Taxi Driver. Jude is brilliant. Does he do Mild Seven ads now?

Attendance at the Japan premiere on the evening of Feb 16 is by invitation only. However, you may catch a glimpse of him walking along the red carpet at Toho Cinemas at Roppongi Hills prior to the start.

M Scorsese, one of the great directors. Glad to hear he'll come to do some promotions. Jude Law ain't a bad actor either.
