Judith Durham was one of the great voices of 60s popular music, and her band the Seekers were one of the class acts of that era. Their folk and jazz musical backgrounds distinguished them from the other great bands of that time, but they were popular nevertheless with fans of the Beatles or the Kinks or the Stones. The first Australian band to hit No 1 in the USA, a smash in the UK before they became popular in Australia, they were real trailblazers for the music and the musicians of their native land. And out in front, this small woman with a fabulous voice, Judith Durham. Yeah, I had a crush on her. I was just a kid, so it was an innocent one, but you never forget your first. RIP Judith, you were a star.

She had a beautiful angelic voice and The Seekers' songs are timeless classics. Thank you Judith Durham. May you rest in peace and entertain those in heaven as you did us here.
