It will be interesting to see what he ends up producing.

Slumdog: agreed. In any case, I admire his attempt to bridge cultures.

lol... well that's funny. Jackie Chan actually has very close ties with South Korea. He lived in South Korea in the 1970's, as a struggling actor at that time before he became famous in hong kong. He often visits South Korea and calls it his second home. He recently appeared on the Korean tv show saying he almost married a Korean woman back in the 70's but the long distance relationship didn't work out in the end. I think he also collaborated in couple of Chinese films with Korean actors and actresses as well. But he getting into boy band Kpop thing is certainly weird.

Why isn't JPOP as popular as KPOP?

Kimokekahuna: "Why isn't JPOP as popular as KPOP?"

Because most JPOP assembled bands actually have zero talent. I have a friend who's a famous musician here and he said SMAP members cannot sing, dance, or do anything to save their lives when it comes to talent. He did add that Nakai and Shingo were very friendly, though. Look at all the lip-synching here, the inability to play instruments with all Jonny's bands, the inability to dance well, etc. Then take a K-Pop band that can sing, dance, and choreograph amazingly (and only show up in lingerie if adults, not children like in J-Pop bands). There's your answer. Talent.
