I enjoy music and I’m not 12 years old.
This is as far from music as McDonald’s is to high cuisine.

Some people enjoys McDonald's food more than those so called high cuisine.
I generally do not listen to rock and roll. I would say it is not my cup of tea. I would not diss it.

Besides apparently no one here speaks Korean so their opinion of "k-pop" is invalid.
It feels so good listening to good korean music, old and new, every radio station is a new discovery.
Same can't be said for contemporary j-pop where boy bands are stiff and cheesy while girl bands sing and behave all the same (like 12 years olds)

A few years ago I saw and met a Korean ROCK band by the name of '57', pronounced as 'oh chill'. They were a 'White Stripes' setup, man on guitar, woman on drums but their sound was more Sonic Youthish and man they were fierce! That guitarist was holding it by the strap next to the mic to make some feedback noise, and the drummer split a drumstick right down the middle. This duo was totally awesome, WICKED. The whole house erupted in loud rapturous applause. K-punk, K-rock, 'K' for 'Kick Ass'. This is the stuff we need to see and hear more of, not these cookie cutter teeny sex robots. Koreans know how to really rock'n'roll. Let's hear them!

Another Korean New Kids on the Block. Faceless. Here today, gone tomorrow.

As someone who has listened to K-pop for over 15 years, it all sounds samey and mass-produced, not to mention the gapjil and sexual favors in the industry. I quit supporting it years ago.

Indeed they do, as do plenty of Japanese bands. If people explore and broaden their musical horizons, they’ll find a country’s music is much more than just the few mega-popular groups they see on TV or hear on radio, and that there might more to some of these popular artists (maybe a surprising B-side or two) than a few hits played ad nauseum.

I've tried to appreciate K-Pop and BTS and this music still leaves me cold and I love lots of Pop music.

And you do, I'm sure...
Having lived in South Korea, I always felt K- Pop, (Look, I even remembered to capitalize it) kind of made J-Pop positively look like a roots revival.
