Popular South Korean all-girl group KARA is appearing in a TV and poster ad campaign for convenience store chain FamilyMart's fried chicken for the Christmas season.
In the "KARA Christmas version" ad, the five girls, known for their sexy dance style, perform an original "chicken dance." The girls said the dance can only be seen in the ad.

I will never understand why chicken is associated with Christmas in Japan. And please stop forcing us to look at cute young women.
Wolfpack
I hope JT will grant your wish and stop forcing you to look at the girls from Kara. As for me, no force is required. I would venture to guess that they look fantastic chicken dancing.
MaboDofuIsSpicy
Can't wait to see the chicken dance. Those girls have great legs.
Is it true though that most Koreans get plastic surgery?
nath
If I do make an order does the chicken come with Kara, 2nd thought no need for the chicken(not that way inclined). ;)
Jared Norman
i enjoy the fried chicken at family mart, but not these girls
mikediab
at first I thought, what the karas have to do with chicken ad, then I noticed their legs and chicken legs are similar in a way. No shape, and got no meat. Sorry Guys, not fan of long and sickly skinny legs, yukkk!
LH10
lol!! fried chicken?!
kara sucks!... kpop -_-'
KobeGrandad
My daughter makes fried chicken far better than Family Mart, but i am not going to make a video of her dancing and showing her legs for perverts.

There is nothing scrawny about their legs. Dancing keeps them in shape, and they eat healthy. Sure beats cellulite and thunder thighs in my opinion.
Remember, big chicken legs are usually full of fat, sinew, and injected chemicals.
These girls look fantastic.

sexy dancing by young girls, convenience store chicken, and Christmas -- thanks for promoting the promotion, JT.

Must by this chicken OMG!!! This chicken must be good if a girls group are promoting it.

MaboDofulsSpicy: "Is it true though that most Koreans get plastic surgery?"
No, that's a myth. Some do, for sure, but Japan actually ranks No. 1 in terms of number of people who get plastic surgery, and if you need proof of that just go to your local Kawasaki, Takasu, or Shinagawa clinics. If it's ranked per capita, since Japan has a larger population than most neighbouring nations outside of China and India, Taiwan ranks No. 1, Japan #3 (after Hong Kong), and SK #5.
The difference is that South Koreans who DO get surgery don't make any secret of it, whereas here it is considered a major faux pas to let the information be known.
Kara are some lovely looking ladies, especially the long legs. But I'll pass on the chicken, thanks. The convenience store 'chicken' is bottom of the barrel, and absolutely disgusting. Anyway it's clear that selling out is not limited to Japanese celebrities.

I love Kara! They are so cute!! Sexy! Does make me a pervert??

need more AKB48 please!
pawatan
Smith, even a cursory Google search shows how incorrect that is.

SK has almost the same number of surgeries as Japan with less than 40% of the population!
Anyway the girls from Kara are great looking and good dancers - I couldn't care less if they've had surgery or not.
Nessie
D'oh! Patawan beat me to it.
@smithinjapan
Number three per capita, with Taiwan ranking #2 and S. Korean #1. S. Korea has double the per capita figure of Japan.
Kara excels at the chicken dance given their chickenlike lower limbs.
nath
My legs are long and thin too. It is healthy. I never get any complaints. Kara are beautiful women. Let them do the Chicken Dance. I want to see it.
KobeGrandad
I doubt many would like to see the legs of a middle aged American man pretending to be a Japanese "babe".
Les scare about these K Pop deadbeats. Would prefer lower prices than big bucks spent on adverts.
kibousha
There goes FamilyMart's chicken bussiness, don't they know that Japanese would never buy what Koreans like/love/produce/market ?
oberst
Can we order just legs and no breasts ? White meat usually are quite dry.
daisan
surely there's no shortage of legs, breasts on the other hand...
pawatan
Except music, food, TV, movies... But other than most things, you are very correct, kibousha!

Are you aware that Japan offers 'Pucchi-kekka' tours to South Korea? in which Japanese can go and get minor cosmetic surgery in secret? You guys need to stop scouring the blogs and realize that the number of surgeries performed in SKorea do not mean they are all performed on SKoreans. It's a whole lot cheaper there than here, and HEAPS of Japanese go there to do it. People that think all SKoreans get cosmetic surgery are sick, and not much better than the old men marching against the popularity of Korean dramas. The cosmetic surgery thing was even proven on a Japanese variety show a few years back, where more than half of the 'tarento' on the show said they had had plastic surgery, but of course it was anonymous. The audience response? the usual, "eeeeeeeEEEEEEHHHHHHHH?" whenever the common place is revealed to them.

kibousha: "There goes FamilyMart's chicken bussiness, don't they know that Japanese would never buy what Koreans like/love/produce/market ?"
In public? no. In secret, some would sell their souls for Korean products. Just look at the 'protests' against Korean dramas -- men and women so utterly shamed by the fact that Korean products are superior they have to march against them... with English signs to boot! No surprise it's mostly men doing the marching, I guess, since their wives and daughters are all at the airport awaiting the arrival of the next Korean male actor.
Whomever would buy this chicken is nuts because the chicken is disgusting, NOT because of who sponsors it. I bet you regardless it'll garner more customers than the 100 AKB48 members trying to promote similar horrid stuff at 7/11.
combinibento
Were they chosen because you cant have fried chicken (KARA AGE) without KARA?
lostrune2
Only tall women can have long legs, heh.
Sunjovi
Why not Chicken Wings. Its so delicious espacially in Sizeria. I wanna see how Kara gonna dance with chicken wings. Qwak qwak qwak....lol.

While that's a cheesy play on words, you might be right on the money -- and if not, there is probably money to be made in the thought.
DentShop
Family Mart chicken aint no good - be careful when you take a bite lest you get a slop of chickeny oil gooped all down your chest while you grind through a mush of gristle and fat.
The fried potato though is next level though - give that a go...

cactusJack is right where's AKB48!! T.T
