Katy Perry to perform in Japan on Aug 16

American singer Katy Perry, 25, will make a rush trip across the Pacific for a live concert in Japan on Aug 16. Her May hit, "California Gurls featuring Snoop Dog" held the No. 1 spot on American charts for six weeks. Her third visit to Japan comes ahead of the release of her new album, "Teenage Dream," on Aug 25.

The Japan concert will be held at a location that has yet to be announced. Perry herself seems to be looking forward to the visit, saying she'd like to dress up as a geisha and "become an anime character."

She looks like a wild summer to heat Japanese fans. American Music is performed in Japanese Colors to gain both for Japan and US in ASIA zone. Japan has lured more Chinese tourists these days with J-Pop culture and traditional values. Chinese government has kept Japan's Bonds for both nations' benefits. Young fans may have another chance to enjoy American sweetness and melody.

What the heck are you talking about, TokyoEyes?

Who is this Katy Perry, anyway? I've heard of but I don't think I've ever heard her.

LOL! I highly doubt Japan is luring the Chinese with traditional values! An odd statement considering Perry is American, who`s only hit song was entitled I Kissed A Girl!

GW, I`m makin the shirts now!

I'll be right over darling, with my X-rated manga and my octopi. You'll never visit Japan again...heh heh heh

Shame the picture is the size of a postage stamp. She's got a banging body.

I think you mean octopedes.

I much prefer the Beach Boys classic titled "California Girls." I suspect Ms. Perry's musical talent won't be quite as enduring as the boys from SoCal's musical genius has proven to be. Best wishes on her upcoming Japan concert. The proposed anime schtick will be a big hit, I'm sure.

Not sure about tee shirts, but that first post sounds like just about every tire cover I've seen on the back of an SUV.

Is the song popular in Japan, it's a great tune.

It's a J-Wave fave, but I think it was down to #2 in the Top Ten this afternoon. Katy uses a number of '70's and '80's themes in the song, and at one point sounds like Cyndi Lauper. What's old is new again.

Hoofin: I dont think so personally, it's just a simple song with a talented vocal and not overdone.

Haven't heard the new song, but Hot'n'Cold was the best bouncy pop tune of the last decade, IMO.

you guys in Tokyo, she does not look anything like L Ga Ga; Perry has incredible Big Blue eyes (somehow enhanced); very good performer (on US TV).
