Keiko Komuro, 36, known as KCO in her solo-artist work, made her first appearance in front of media Wednesday since her husband and fellow member of music group globe was arrested last week.
She was one of about 50 family members and relatives who were in Usuki City in Oita Prefecture to commemorate the first anniversary of her father Shintaro Yamada’s death, who passed away at 63.
Keiko apologized to those in attendance for the ruckus caused by the recent incident in which her husband, Tetsuya Komuro, 49, was arrested on suspicion of defrauding an investor over copyrights he did not own. After the memorial service she visited her father’s grave.
She appeared twice before the press and bowed deeply but did not answer reporters’ questions.

How do you pronounce her stage name? Is it K-C-O? Or KO? Or CO??? Or KOCO?

Why bother her at her father's anniversary service ? It's the husband who has been arrested. Very disrespectful to bother her family at their service.

Deepinside and northlondon...agree completely. One could argue that she is the biggest victim of this whole tragedy -- assuming she loved and trusted her husband. Leave her alone and let her deal with the dual realities of likely having her husband convicted of a criminal offense, and the fact that they are broke.

hm...shame on me to focus first on Tetsuya himself when I read the news.

It would have been nice to have seen the local cops arrest those journalists bothering this family at their memorial service. There should be a distinct line drawn where journalists should and should not be allowed to follow celebrities for a quote. A memorial service for someone's father should be out of bounds. She should have asked them to leave immediately.

Then she'd be KC6O6 which is highly explosive....this could get fun.

North is right. Why should she have to bow in 建前 Tatemae to the media when she already has to use so much 建前 Tatemae at her fathers party. The media should hound food company executives with that passion. Of course then they risk losing valuable advertising contracts so they do not.

Bowling is always good! Good excuse for everything:)

I hope these media maggots have their fathers memorial services interrupted. How tasteless and tactless. How about they go to the Diet Building and hound the real thieves there who "lost" millions of Retirement Accounts, or the Shinjuku area where the yaks roam without fear of the police. Poor woman.

Life has its ups & downs for all of us...even for Mr/s Komuro....but the J medias are the disgraceful part of the whole story. Why can't you leave them alone...??

She did not answer vulture press questions, and rightly so. Show some respect, leave the woman alone in her suffering.

Hmmm, she has yet to deny being married to him. Hmmm, several million dollars in debt, still married. Could have easily reported him to the police for illegal drug use. Hmmm, still married to him. Yes, I would say, a bit of mud slung at her is ok in this article as well. Sure you can only comment on what you can see on the surface, but at some point in this marriage she became just as involved as he. I think those who have made comments only on her name were minimal compared to what can really be said. Hmmm, maybe if estranged wife of Komuro...
