Ken Watanabe cheers on Samurai Blue

Actor Ken Watanabe, 50, gave a supporting cheer for the Samurai Blue national World Cup team at a press conference for NTT Docomo this week. "Make it into the Top 4, aim to win. Take onto the field with you courage and resolution, and remember that your country is depending on you," the actor said.

Docomo's new campaign commercial features Watanabe and singer-songwriter Kaela Kimura, 25, as two Docomo mobile phones, along with Masaki Okada, 20, and Maki Horikita, 21, in human roles. Watanabe joked, "I'd like to continue making more commercials from here on out, so if I could just trade numbers with Kaela."

Ken is unbelivably handsome. He is my sunshine.

Non-heel shoes, you mean. And yeah, I see what you're talking about. Even WITH the heels, she is still the smallest of the four in the picture. If she were wearing flats, she'd be eye-to-nipple to Watanabe-san. Horikita-san is also wearing heels, but the lack of socks makes it less obvious.

Just imagine Kimura chan in the Picture on non-hill shoes with Ken Watanabe.

Yeah herefornow, gotta say most of the J-leaguers are a bunch of pretty-boys. Never watch it anymore. Hopefully the Samurai Blue will have more "tososhin."

Ken's suit is too light. He can't be taken seriously.

I wish national teams would not give themselves nicknames (of whoever makes them up) that intend to make them sound tough or unbeatable. It is so, so embarassing when they lose out in the first round.

Ken Watanabe is one of the coolest Japanese actors. If anyone saw him in "Last Samurai" and "Batman begins" I'm sure you would agree with me.

Kimura-chan, what is with the shoes?

If this country is truly "depending on them", I'm afraid they are in for a major case of collective depression come June. In fact, having the term "samurai" associated with these bunch of pretty-boys is truly sad.

It is a slight relief to know that SOMEONE is supporting them...
