In the internet age, nothing said is ever forgotten. And it seems never forgiven. What hope if no second chances are ever given?

Let whomever is without sin, cast the first stone.

Does a father have a right to say he would prefer that his son not be gay? SJWs say no!

9 ( +14 / -5 )

The SJWs want their pound of flesh for statements made 10, 20, 50 yrs ago and the media will help them to get it.

Think of all the dumb things you've written or said over the years before demanding it.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

I feel the headline should add, "...from 10 years ago."

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Real inclusion and diversity would mean including those with differing opinions.

What a narrow minded, exclusive club Hollywood has become.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

the Libs are starting to eat themselves alive with their over PC garbage now...

7 ( +12 / -5 )

I'm sure he has better things to do with his time. I know I do. Cutting my toe nails would be a step up from watching the Oscars.

"Take this job and shove it!" ♫

6 ( +7 / -1 )

It's ludicrous in this day and age when you're not allowed to dislike the way someone is in their sexual preferences , but you can disagree with the person who dislikes those preferences, to such an extent that you deny them their right to freedom of expression! Nuts.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

He should have doubled down.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Liberals eating their own. He should talk to Kanye about this.

Some things are better left unsaid.

If you don't want your kid to be gay, fine. But keep that to yourself, because before you have kids, no one cares what you think, and after you have kids, you're going to be a particularly poor parent and damage your kid if you are saying things like that around them. Yes, even if they're straight.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

@Jonathan Prin

You don't want gays to have the same rights as everyone else, yet you dislike people being intolerant? That's exactly what intolerance is.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

How other people choose to have intimate relations is none of my business. I don't see how allowing a legal marriage contract between two people who love each other and want to raise a family harms society at all.

Unpopular speech is protected by the 1st amendment, but Hollywood and the Oscars aren't the Govt. They can hold someone accountable for any reason they like. Being gay, being straight, being offensive, being ugly, being "different", whatever reason they want.

Unless they have govt contracts, then the EEO laws apply.

Part of being in the entertainment industry is not making anyone, anywhere, mad enough to prevent your next job or the job you might want in 20 yrs. When you are young and your career is just taking off, it is hard to behave that way.

HimajinDec. 8 03:01 pm JST" He wasn't fired, he chose to leave rather than have a discussion about it. A bit hyper-sensitive of him, no?"

Discussion does no good. Forgiveness is never granted, so what's the use of trying to explain? Take a look at some of the recent "fire them for 10-20-year-old Tweets!!" debacles have gone...nothing you can say will do any good.

that was 10+ years ago. When I was 14 I did and said some stupid ignorant things, haven't we all? In middle school + HS it was 'cool' to make homophobic jokes but it's stupid, ignorant and juvenile. 'Juvenile' means that you're not grown up yet. People can grow up and mature. I'd be more concerned about what Kevin is saying now, today. Has he grown up? People can mature in a decade's time.

When I got into the service and later in college I came to realize that most things I've heard about gays aren't true at all. 'Homophobia' is a term to denote 'hate for gays' but it really is 'HOMO-' (homosexuals) + 'PHOBIA' (fear, NOT 'hatred'). Homophobes hate gays because they're really scared of them.

Part of growing up means giving up bigotry. If Kevin Hart still expressed homophobic hate now then  that would be a reason for concern. He shouldn't be penalized for something stupid and juvenile in the his past if he has matured.

It’s wrong to hope your son isn’t gay?

Or to say it as a joke even?

okay, is it wrong for a couple saying their hoping for a girl or a boy ?

Is that wrong? Why not?

I guess you can’t even say that because if you want to have a family of three and hope for a girl, people will say we won’t know if it’s a it or girl for years.

The world is getting crazy.

Kevin has nothing to apologize for and this didn’t happen to surface, they dug this up, purposely, he said what he said and it might have been in bad taste, but do we have to hold everyone accountable for every little thing people say and do? It’s getting to the point where people are afraid to say anything for fear of their words possibly coming back to haunt them. Hart has I think two movies coming out, so he did the smart thing and decided to step aside because giving up a lifelong dream over his film career was far more important,

One cannot have their own opinions ?

I prefer heterosexuals to gays on average. And particularly dislike those who think g1ys should be able to have exact same rights (religiously, to get pregnant, etc).

So I am a hater ?

I prefer to stand for someone honest to their mind than any community who is untolerant to others. That is the big difference because I don't demand anything on my side.

It’s wrong to hope your son isn’t gay?

I only read one of the tweets and thats exactly how i took it. The fear of the difficulty of having a child in a world that still has a great deal of prejudice against being gay, trans etc. Its a perfectly understandable fear as a parent. Nobody wants their children to be subject to that but the rabid left dont do nuance. They do brainless and bullying, but not nuance or reason or logic or rationailty and all the things we once upon a time heralded as a sign of a sound mind, not all that long ago....

Some things are better left unsaid.

Can say whatever he likes. He is not promoting violence or even this extremely vague notion of hate. He is highlighting the reality of the world we live in.

His mistake was thinking that everyone could deploy a logical mindset, especially on twitter.

Hollywood types are free to associate with and give jobs to whom they like. If they don't like Kevin Hart because of his opinion on the gay lifestyle then that's fine with me.

But Hollywood types should be honest and admit that they are not as inclusive as they claim. And they should stop preaching thier hypocritical 'diversity' gospel to everyone else.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

@Concerned Citizen

"But Hollywood types should be honest and admit that they are not as inclusive as they claim."

Bingo! They all seem to put themselves on a pedestal as if we need to idolize them for some reason. But, in the end, after initially not giving in to the perpetual outrage mob, Kevin apologized.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

They should just find a trans actor/comedian/singer with children to run the whole show. Don't forget to ban heterosexuals from attending. Heteros should also no longer be eligible to win oscars because that's homophobic.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There can be very valid reasons for a parent to prefer thier child to grow up hetero rather than gay that have nothing to do with homophobia or hate in any way.

The parents want thier kids to experience the joy of child raising and would like grand children. (More likely if straight)

The parents want thier kids to have thier own children to look after them in thier old age. (Again, more likely if straight)

The parents know that male homosexual activity comes with much higher risks of HIV/AIDS and other STD's.

If that's Kevin Hart's (or anyone else's) preference I don't see anything wrong with him stating it matter of factly.

26.5 million viewers last year, compared to 43 million in 2014.

40% decrease in viewership in 3 years. Is this because legions of conservative viewers got tired of being looked down on, smeared and hated by the Hollywood crowd?

It's time for Hollywood to stop the hate and embrace and include those who think differently.

He shouldn't be penalized for something stupid and juvenile in the his past if he has matured.

That's not how the SJW mob works.

@Jonathan Prin

Or you could stop being so rude and get better at formulating your opinion? You just said "exact same rights," of course I'd think that includes legal.

It's like I said. Everybody says stupid things when they're younger because they don't know any better. Anybody can mature within a decade. Ever read the Autobiography of Malcolm X? He greatly matured and changed throughout his short life. He was the brightest star in school who was told he had no future, he ran away towards a life of crime, converted to a hate cult and became a spokesperson for it. He later left the sect, converted to true Islam and became an advocate for the brotherhood of all people.  Yet even today, many people in America still think he was an anti-white/anti-Semite demagogue and he was NOT any of those things when he died.

That is the problem. Kevin said something ignorant, stupid and possibly hateful in the past - but what is his opinion now? That's the question, Hamlet.

Id like to see Kanye West host it instead

I never said he couldn’t say it. I said it was better left unsaid. He shouldn’t have said it, and I have no respect for someone who would say that.

That doesn’t mean he can’t say it. It just means I’m going to shame him for saying it. Or does the right to say one’s opinions only extend to those who would criticize homosexuality, and not those of us who would criticize those who criticize homosexuality?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

You don't want gays to have the same rights as everyone else, yet you dislike people being intolerant? That's exactly what intolerance is.

When you can start having a brain, you would not that when I was writing this, I was NOT IN FACT REFERING TO LEGAL RIGHTS.

You can't demand to society (including me) to get all what you would like, men can't give birth, change religion, and force people to think your way !

Freedom of thought is just what I ask.

I would fight for any gay person who respects me, even if she says she dislikes me. Some cannot understand apparently and so are willing to hurt others for that. This is what is happening to Kevin Hart explained through this article.
