Kim Kardashian discusses fame, missteps at Forbes summit

I've heard the name, but I've never understood what she is famous for. The US guys at the office say she is "famous for being famous". Could someone elaborate?

She is a joke, and only gets the publicity because of her big tits, big arse, and fat bank account.

She is of no real significance. Why is there even an article about her (I didn't read it so I don't know and don't care)? Wait - don't answer that last question - I truly don't care.

She gets lots of invites to business conventions and the like. Their usual justification is that she is a proven social marketing expert and an astute businesswoman. Which seems to be true. But I think the real reason is that she's a crowd draw. Plenty of social marketing experts who are astute in business, but most of them are pretty boring looking guys. As much as they pretend otherwise, business conventions love this stuff as much as anyone else in the US.
