Fighto!
Rest in Peace.
She was brilliant in Cheers, a great comedy in the 80s.

Aw, that is sad to hear. I loved Cheers so much and she was great in it.

Didn't like her movies so much but she was BETTER in 'Cheers' than Shelley was. When 'Cheers' went off the air in early 1993, I felt and sensed that an era in TV comedy had passed. A corner was turned. That feeling turned about to be prophetic, TV comedy was never than fun or funny again IMHO.
And she was such a beautiful sexy lady. I visited Boston for the first time in 2019 and I saw the famous Bull and Finch Pub / Cheers (used for the show's opening credits).
Another icon (and crush) of my Generation X has passed away. Growing older kinda sucks, ya know?

My late pops was a cab driver in Baltimore. She was a fare of his. He told her I had a crush on her. She autographed a photo and personalized it, "Billy, You are MY crush."
I have it now on my obutsudan. RIP.

Good actress with a talent for deadpan comedy, and an incredibly sexy screen presence, main reason for watching Cheers as far as I was concerned.

I absolutely loved 'Cheers'. Very difficult to replace Shelley Long in 'Cheers' and maintain the quality and charm of the series, but she absolutely nailed it with flair and panache. RIP.

I liked Kirstie Allie more than Shelly Long myself, she was a great follow-up.

Where everybody knows your name. And they're always glad you came.

Awww, Kirsty was, and is one of my teen age crushes, drop dead gorgeous! RIP. Kirsty

There was more to Cheers than her. Rhea Perlman was good at being a wiseacre fast-talking bartender. And Norm Peterson and Cliff Clavin made a good pair too. When I took a Shakespeare class as an English requirement fulfillment, I 'found out' that the characters Rosencrans and Guildenstern are similar. Maybe the Cheers producers got inspired by that.
Either way, Kirty's humor and drop dead gorgeous looks and sexiness sure helped make the show the great sensation that it was. But all the cast members were crucial. I wish we had TV shows this good and funny again.
