American hard rock band KISS will tour Japan in October as part of their 40th anniversary Monster tour.

The legendary band will play two concerts -- Oct 19 in Makuhari Messe in Chiba and Oct 21 in Osaka Castle Hall. KISS last toured Japan seven years ago. This will be their 10th tour of Japan.

Wow.....just wow, 40 years. I wonder how many oyaji's in Japan, besides Go, Hiromi, would have the guts to get on stage and put on an act like KISS?

I bet Gene Simmons hooks up with Yumiko Shaku again while they're here.

As long as there's a paycheck these guys will tour in wheelchairs.

Rock on, . . rock on . .

From what I hear, they sucked pretty bad on earlier gigs of this tour.

certainly enough to teach you respect.

While many consider KISS a nostalgia act, their latest release is a pretty solid piece of work. I was fortunate enough to see Eric Singer with Black Sabbath in 86 and with Alice Cooper in 91. One of the best behind the kit.

I went to their first Japan concert tour in the first half of 1977. Wiki says: 1976–77 Rock & Roll Over Tour

"Kiss plays Japan for first time, playing four sold out nights at Budokan Hall, breaking the previous record held by The Beatles."

It was a great time!

When do the tickets go on sale?

To me KISS were always rather late on the old Glam Rock scene. Give me Alice Cooper any day.

Tickets are on sale for fan club members.

Will Lois Griffin come too?

So you're equating KISS with T. Rex or David Bowie? Ehhh... No.

Fadamor... more like the Sweet.... or the Glitter Band. T Rex and Bowie are way above them ... as are Slade ^_^

I wonder if Simmons' tounge is getting longer with age? I still remember "Hotter than Hell" with all the Kanji on the cover. Got me interested in Japan.

Just so everybody's clear as to who T-bird considers the same as KISS, here's a photo:

Again... No.

KISS was never Glam-rock. They've always been Hard-Rock but costumed and masked as part of the show. More similar for shock value to Alice Cooper.

KISS ARMY!! Hell yeah! And now they will come out to Japan again! Sweet! Detroit Rock City!

Just listened to their "Monster" album - sort of like Black Sabbath meets Judas Priest.

Enjoyed reading the comments. It's interesting to hear about different tastes in rock music.

I was a child of the 60s and the rock music scene in the Detroit area. Whatever KISS did, I thought groups like The Stooges did better and years earlier. Still, this is good news for KISS fans. There's nothing like aging to the point where you need the makeup.

Anyone recall the time when they went without it?

I never liked KISS. I always thought there were other much more talented bands out there. They put on makeup to make themselves unique, then when interest began to fade in the 80's they took the makeup off to make a comeback, then once again at a later date as part of some other reunion or comeback, they put makeup back on. As an outside observer, It seems their career is defined by putting on and taking off makeup. I never got it.

I wish this disgusting and gross group of horrible self labelled musicians would go away and stay away from the US, they are one of the worst examples of the non culture that characterizes modern American. I am sorry to see that they are considered worthy of coverage as news. They are worthless and a tragic sign of the decline of America.
