Enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa, 31, began the year with a promotional appearance at a music store in Tokyo this week. Hikawa, who marks the 10th anniversary of his debut this year, said his most fervent wish for 2009 is to get married.
Hikwa told reporters that he prayed for a bride at a shrine on the first day of the year. “I want to end my single life this year because I feel lonely when I come back to my messy home.”
Hikawa visited the store in Ginza to introduce his new song “Rokyoku Ichidai,” which will be released Feb 4.

Wouldn't one of those talking robotic vacuum cleaners be a lot less bother than doing one of those celeb marriage jobs or is this just a weak attempt to boost his profile prior to the release of his latest recording?

Ooooh, Haruna Ai might be a good match.
Betzee
It seems he seeks a spouse to organize his life. Any woman who accepted his offer would be half way down the road to eternal naghood. Far better to be the object of someone's affection than doning a maid's uniform for a self-confessed slob!

Problem solve! He can marry that New Half, Haruna Ai. Looks like a woman, but all man.

Surely the Sokagakkai could help solve this problem for him, round up a few beauties from their elk. Well, for now, keep on chanting Hikawa-chan.

loltehinterwebs

But in case (S)HE could marry a lesbian, isnt it?. You know, he looks and act like a girl, probably a lesbian (covered) would be a good option for him, did someone said AKKO???.

I actually quite like the guy, even though he does come out with a few of those well-scripted responses to certain comments and questions when he appears on tv. Anyway, I hope he does find someone nice and not end up divorced one or two years later like so many others.
telecasterplayer
I thought he'd be wanting one of those Massachusetts marriages.

Actually realist, a messy place isn't a Japanese thing but more like general guy thing.
He will probably get married for publicity like a lot of celebrities do and divorce several years later. Besides, its not like he has to have sex with his wife. This is Japan!
jwills79
If you would stop acting like a lady then you would probably attract more.

If he wants a maid he should try Akihabara - plenty of them there. Sad that this guy ios like so many of the totally spoilt Japanese men who are incapable of living in anything but a pigsty of an apartment. Ive visited a ferw Japanese friends whose apartments could be described as pigstys, rubbish heaps, firetraps, and disgusting messes. How people can live like that is beyond me. Is it theri upbringing, and the fact that okaachan does everything for them?
JeromeInJapan
Well clean your room and maybe you will strike it lucky buddy! So he said tired of coming home to a messy apartment... the guy just wants a house maid... problem solved... He never said he wants to marry I woman in this article... so...

Hey, does he want to get marry?... as i know in Japan gay marriage is not legal. Or... is he pretending to marry a woman?... What for?!!!..., well, anyway if he finally marry a young and pretty woman... i would like to be his neighbor, because i am sure after few weeks of "nothing", "his" wife will be bored and horny...

Hire a housekeeper or a daily woman. It's cheaper, less hassle and will boost the employment figures by 1.

Wait a minute! He's supposed to be GAY and UNTIDY? Then he can't be gay.
Gays are supposed to be generally tidy, do their own decorating and dress well... has anyone heard if he can decorate? Hahaa!

I s'pose he can come to Canada and get a gay marriage license here. Still there are probably woman wanting to be a maids who want to marry him... all the girls with that "I can change him" mentality?
Is Enka really that popular with the girls in Japan? I want to be an Enka singer...
meiwaku
Don`t do it Kiyoshi!

Typical J-guy -- 31 years old by the calendar, and about 15 years old in maturity and with respect to relationships.

So basically he wants someone to tidy up after him. Maybe he should get a housekeeper?

My fervent wish for 2009 is to get divorced. Who would want to marry an untidy Enka singer?
