Did both of you actually watch shoplifters? I want to think the decision of awarding Kore-eda was taken based strictly on "art". But under current problems between both countries, more than one Korean with anti Japanese feelings will be extremely happy with the decision!

Didn't like the concept of Shoplifters. Makes crime sympathetic.

Well done and well deserved. And good on Busan, too for becoming a predominant film festival location. I remember when it was just starting up and trying to catch up to Montreal.
