Singer Kumi Koda, 29, will represent Japan at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Singapore on Tuesday.

MAMA features talent from 45 Asian countries and typically draws a viewership of around 2 million. The 2011 show will mark the event’s 13th consecutive year.

The event’s organizers reportedly requested Koda specifically to perform at the event, citing her powerful stage presence, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Their liberties are eroded and the masses concentrate on Kumi Koda and other trivial matters.

Smoke and mirrors

"The event's organizers" obviously aren't looking for someone with a lot of musical talent. Still KK is a good performer and absolutely hot. Good choice.

She is a cute woman.

I use to wonder why I could not find a girlfriend that was pretty like Kumi then it came to me..."Most women are not legally blind".

Her sister is Misono?

With 2 million viewers in 45 countries doesnt make this a big hit event. Inviting talento to boost viewing figures is their only option. Maybe Yukio Hatoyama and his guitar playing dog act couldn`t make it :)

So they couldn't of picked someone with..you know.. talent?

Why are most people being harsh to Koda? She sings, dances, acts, models like all the other singers in Japan. Citing that she uses her sex appeal to cover any real talent is just away of cowering from an answer, I love Japanese music and have all of Koda's live DVD's, she's the only one that really stays true to her voice off the stage and on it.
