The original Twin Peaks started off as brilliantly then went too weird lets hope the new series learns from the mistakes

Really? For someone like myself who hates most TV shows, Twin Peaks was a intriguing surprise.
Remember what was on back then?
The Simpsons
Seinfeld
90210
Full House
And it hasn't improved much. I just hope they're able to avoid the one common theme in 90% of the shows today, and that is the useless "blah-blah" dialog where characters start talking about crap that has nothing to do with the story. LOST was a master at this which is why I needed a "fast forward" button to watch it. Watching the Inspector Morse Endeavour TV series now and liking it.

Twin Peaks was groundbreaking. It's influence has filtered through the networks over the years. Contrary to the popular view; I thought the series improved as it went on. Wyndham Earl, the Black Lodge etc.
Didn't like Fire Walk With Me when it was released but re-visited it recently and I was more open to its tragic and terrifying story.
I believe that this is truly a golden age of television. Much of the stuff on the box is more worthy than what's showing at the local cinema complex.

Toasted, I agree about Twin Peaks. I loved both seasons and was bummed when it was cancelled. Though kudos to ABC for ever broadcasting it in the first place. Can't wait to see the premiere--thank god for the internet.
I'll have to try FWWM again b/c like you my memory isn't good. I did just watch Blue Velvet again for the first time since high school and it's still completely insane.
