Actress Kyoko Hasegawa, 31, will debut in her first role in over a year on Jan 14 in the new TV Asahi drama, "Angel Bank - Tenshoku Dairinin" (Thursday nights at 9 p.m.), playing a career change adviser the same age as she is.
The story is based on the popular comic book by Norifusa Mita, and is a spin-off of the 2005 TBS show "Dragon Zakura." Hasegawa played the high school teacher, who was the main character on "Dragon."
The story begins with Hasegawa's character setting out as a career change adviser. As the story progresses, she learns how to live life the way she wants throughout the struggles of the business while dealing with a colorful cast of characters. "Her sense of justice is strong and it makes her really emotional," says Hasegawa. "I see her as being really girly. In real life, I think I'm a little more 'manly' than that."
