Again I say Too bad this woman is idolized by so many young people in Japan. Why you ask? How about her latest stunt where a costar in her concert vomited all over Lady Gaga as part of the show. She wore that mess for the rest of the concert.

You can bet she got heavily payed for this, Koreans are not cheapskates , when it comes promoting their "culture " .

I'd say Crayon Pop is pretty good. They're like DEVO.

Jeez man, could you be any more bitter?

@jojotoday

Thats reality, they tried hard last year to export Crayon pop to become as popular as PSY, but they failed, not they pay Lady Gaga to try to promote them .

I knew the haters would come out in a fit of jealousy. Lady Gaga is quite well off and chose them because of their talent and their costumes (the latter nearly as outrageous as her own), so they compliment her well. She was not paid off. You have to simply face the facts -- K-pop is more renowned world wide than other Asian pop markets, and far more talented in terms of singing and choreography.

Koreans really try hard to get affirmation for something as banal as pop music. This shows how insecure they are. It's sad that they themselves don't realize it, and that others have to point it out to them. Then again that's Korean culture for you, so it's nothing new.

Lady Gaga, K-pop...when can we get good music again? =_=; Anyway, I don't know about the US and the rest of Europe, but in my country, Italy, K-pop isn't popular at all.

She had a concert in Sydney yesterday, full venue of about 2,000 people. Told the crowd: "I'm koala!"

Says a Japanese poster.

Says a Japanese poster... who must admit that this K-pop group is successful when his countrymen are not. Try not to look in the mirror, my friend.

Daijoboots: "She had a concert in Sydney yesterday, full venue of about 2,000 people. Told the crowd: "I'm koala!"

And? You make it sound like she couldn't get a bigger audience when it was a once-in-a-lifetime town-hall performance for lucky fans, and it is indeed being touted as "the music event of the year". So what was your point?

Yes, because I have a Japanese username and/or say something that doesn't praise Koreans, then I must be a Japanese poster. Besides, posters only hang on walls, don't they?

Briliant, mind-blowing logic from smith.

Sorry this was about Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and not Lady Gaga. They are, um, different people.

And J-pop musicians don't? Funny!!

Yes, because if you criticize or say anything that doesn't favor Koreans, then it must be because of "fear and jealousy of Korean success." There's no other explanation, since anyone and everyone cares whether Koreans succeed or not.

In addition to mind-blowing logic from smith, he can also read other people's minds. LOL

And the same can be said for many Japanese artists or Talento.

Don't beat yourself up about it. They both do weird stuff. Easy mistake to make.

For Korea, its most important Hally wave to spread, Korean goverment and K-pop are conected, their idea is that they need to show them self as most beautiful country ( thats why so big obsession with plastic surgery in Korea ) , actually K-drama and K-pop are not made for domestic use as much they are actually made for export , because they want to change the perception of people toward Korea , so, their K-dramas and K-pop is propaganda, fake face that they put on their country , their music and dramas are fake as their plastic surgery , I mean look, they are soo focused on one thing ( fangirls ) they they are only famous on pop and dramas ?

Japan has variety in their music scene ( Visual Kei, Metal , Idol , Rock) , while Korea has pop ? And what pop is that ? All Girls or Boy bands , and majority of them under plastic surgery ( for girls groups ) or trained musculare bodies (for boys bands ) . And who listen them ? Fangirls, thats what Koreans target , they know females are more emotional, and more likely to get attached on image .

And Japan has lots of Rock bands that have longer music carrier than K-pop exist , as Mr.Children, Buck-Tick, B'z(who have their have their handprints and signatures at Hollywood's RockWalkor ) , Bump of Chicken , Glay, Luna Sea, Porno Graffitti ,singer Gackt .

Yeah. Still that morning haze had a role to play. I notice smithinjapan took issue with my comment when it was unintentionally re: Gaga, and I can imagine his reaction would be quite different re: Pamyu Pamyu.

Both are superstars of the universe, eh smithyboy?

@Daijoboots- your comment was pretty random to begin with u might want to have mentioned first it was the lip-synching talentless Pamyu's concert..As I would have assumed the same that Gaga was playing a very small possibly special show with a crowd of only 2,000.. Being that after all she is the highest grossing female artist in music today..

@Nenad- your kidding right ? Gaga doesn't need to get paid by the opening act in fact that opening act is gonna get a nice payday and more notoriety .. Usually or often the headliner of a tour will choose an opening act so obviously Gaga saw something in them.. As for diversity in music Korean music is just as diverse as Japanese and more widely recognized .. Obviously u yourself are only familiar with K-pop ?! As for your snide remarks about Koreans being fake and plastic surgery and what not lol .. I recommend u take a trip there and educate yourself cuz u sound like a total racist.. If Koreans are fake well then so are Japanese..plenty of plastic surgery here as well, along with girls wearing pounds of make- up on their faces , young boys spending 15 minutes playing with their hair in public restrooms and let us not forget Japanese boys and their purses( bags) )lol..

In conclusion both Japanese and Korean music sucks be it any genre in my own humble opinion ..But when it comes to entertainment unfortunately for some of u on this thread Koreans have a leg up on Japan!!
