I agree. Anyway, it seems like Gaga mania has peaked, her last 'era' didn't do what it should have, certainly not on same the level as what The Fame Monster did. No monster hits, apart from Born This Way and people in general just got tired of her obvious attention seeking, outlandtish outfits and switched over to Adele, someone whose success in 2011 was based entirely on music she wrote and performed, no gimmicks required. I hope Namie Amuro wins in the categories she was nominated in, best female Japanese pop star IMO. Still relevant 15 years after her solo debut, even Seiko Matsuda burned out after 10 years and was reduced to the 'dinner party concert' circuit and doing CMs to keep her name out there.

MTV Music Awards in Japan are a joke.

These Japan against the world awards are pretty stupid, just keep it domestic & keep it away from ME!

An what happens if a foriegner was to win? Are they going to be there to accept the awards too?

MTV Music Awards in Japan are a joke.

They're a joke everywhere, the only good thing about the American VMAs are the many memorable performances that have taken place over the years. The actual awards themselves are worthless, no matter what version of the MTV Music Awards takes place in whatever country.

Lady GaGa is a dangerously BAD influence to young minds in America. Her sounds through that mic CANNOT be considered music.

Japan should heed these words and shun "Lady" ( if you can call her that ) Gaga.

She's annoying and derivative, but I don't get how she's a 'dangerously BAD' influence. Care to explain?

as Kurumazaka said, something is wrong here: where's AKB?? can we be so lucky?

"but I don't get how she's a 'dangerously BAD' influence.."

She may inspire others to wear meat suits resulting in widespread Ecoli outbreaks that could bring down the entire global economy!! :)

or

She may just bore us all to death with her music.

Stay away from them, then. I've found that Japanese pop music can be better than American the American kind.

Oh yeah, like Madonna and her amazing talent deserved all that praise. Who are you kidding tkoind2? I'm no fan, but anyone would agree that at least gaga can sing better than Madonna.

No Engelbert Humperdinck?

Namie Amuro is better than Gaga, well I mean she is not a world class singer or performer but at least she is not that boring like Gaga and has a pleasant appearance. Every time I see Gaga's photo , again in the present one she looks like a gargoyle, I have to go to the kitchen and pour some glasses of Jagermeister to cure my stomach.

I think if Namie Amuro had a promotion team that Gaga has, she could be far before her.

What was her song or the best female video that the article mentioned is it on youtube?
