He probably saw his reflection in a mirror and just fainted. I'm sure that he and Lady Gagg will be just fine.

Wow another artist suffers a concussion on stage. Just two weeks ago, Justin Bieber was running and cracked his dome against a glass wall while performing in France. He continued his show as well, but there were reports that he momentarily lost consciousness after leaving the stage.

i saw the video @ tokudane, wow she's really professional and patient ... if that accident happened to other artist i don't think they can continue the show?

She was taught some act-right.
YuriOtani
Wish she gets better soon, it shows class to finish the show.

And we are forced to conclude the writer just made it up. How completely irresponsible. Maybe the next version will claim she suffered a skull fracture too, because it sounds more exciting?

Maybe the story was reported from Wellington? I'm not sure. It does say further on that the concert was in Auckland, but I see why you were confused, especially since, despite what the moderator says, the first word after the title of the story is 'WELLINGTON' in all caps.

Wellington is the dateline where the story is filed from.

The story says Auckland.
Jonathan Hunt
Why does this say Wellington when it happened in Auckland?

Hey, might even improve her vocal range--a la Mama Cass when she began singing with what would become the Mamas and the Papas. Cass also suffered an accidental head injury that soon led to a marvelous, albeit too short career.

"Concussed" is the proper usage. It's just that the opportunities to use it in that form are not as common as saying someone received a concussion. Most people go the "easy" route and double their words by saying "was hit on the head and suffered a concussion".
"Was concussed" vs. "was hit on the head and suffered a concussion." Both mean the same thing, but one takes up much less space in the article.

takes a lickin & keeps on tickin!

A little nutty with her clothing and costumes, but she sure is a good singer. Like her music, and yeah, good for her that she kept the concert going. That's remarkable! Good job!

Typical Gaga puts a whole new slant on "Pole Dancing".
Lizz
Reportedly people in attendance barely noticed it happening and consider her to have been joking (victimizing ?....again !). I will give her credit for at least keeping it together emotionally (and has burst into tears at much less).

Concussed is a perfectly good word. Past tense of to concuss meaning shake violently. I used have used it in technical writing before although I think in this case, "suffered a concussion" would have been more understandable.

I thought she was cussed at but in a con way! HA HA,, but glad to know she is okay(????) and finished the concert, but I agree with all who say concussion would have been more suitable.
edojin
She said it was a concussion. Did she get a medical opinion on that? Didn't see anything about a doctor making any comments on the beaning ...
Mirai Hayashi
Yes, its a very awkward word. I think it would have been more natural to say "Lady Gaga suffered concussion at NZ Concert".
JT ....trying to be fancy

"when a dancer accidentally hit her on the head with a metal pole". Couldn't stand her anymore, maybe? Still, as much as I loathe her music, fashion sense (or lack thereof) her ideals, and her activism, hopefully not too much harm done. She did offer a lipstick stained tea-cup for auction to charity after all... But the real credit should go to the dentist who actually donated his earnings to charity, and technically got the tea-cup as a sort of consolation prize.

hahaha video please!

I learn something everyday. I can't even used that in a sentence. LOL! So if you were planning on hitting your head tomorrow, would it be "Concussing?"

NetNinja: "I'm sure the dancer has been terminated."
Probably, and definitely the gut response, but given that Gaga could go on to finish the concert, and her other philanthropic endeavors, I could see her pushing for little or no punishment for the dancer who beamed her. Plus -- given Gaga's propensity for bizarre costumes and stage presentation, it's quite possible the metal poles were her own idea to begin with and were not practical.
NetNinja
I'm sure the dancer has been terminated.

That's the first time I've seen the word "concussed" used.
smithinjapan
As much as I'm not a fan of her music and think she's a bit nutty with the costumes and gimmicks, I do respect this woman. That she finished the concert despite a concussion is testament to her will and commitment to her profession. I hope the dancer didn't get canned.
