American singer Lady Gaga, 23, celebrated her first visit to Japan to promote her debut album, "The Fame," with a concert in Tokyo on Monday night.

Lady Gaga has already captured the fascination of both the U.S. and England with her eccentric fashion and sexy moves, and 1,700 Japanese fans were mesmerized by her performance of a total of five songs, including her hit single "Just Dance."

She told fans what she wanted to do in Japan most was "Eat tons of sushi!" The singer is scheduled to visit Japan again in August to perform at this year's Summer Sonic.

only such "artists" come to Japan, the country of manga and anime embraces them 100%.

Isn`t Lady Gaga British?

I think she's awful, personally, but hey, if she makes music people want to hear, fine. Five songs seems like a pretty short concert, though.

She's from New York.

Not gonna make the Oricon Top 40 unless they re-mix "Polka face" with Eurobeat into a super parapara dance. I can imagine now..

..

"Gaga" in English means "crazy." This sad woman is appropriately named. When I saw this creature on TV this morning I thought she was a refugee from Shibuya/Harajuku - one of the young Japanese "cosplay" girls, until she removed her sunglasses and revealed that hideous makeup. It takes all sorts and no doubt this woman will be a big hit in wierd Tokyo.

Go back to the UK please.

I think she is from the US and she is quite talented and creative for a pop star. She has been setting trends in the US and UK and dominated the charts ..so good for her

Well most of the Japanese so called "talent" here are trash anyway, so she's just another one to add to the pack.

She'll fit in just nicely here.

(Yawn) Another Madonna... Wacky clothes and bizarre statements to the press. Seen it and heard it all before.

Is it really a "concert" if you only perform 5 songs? I wonder how much her fans paid for that?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I don't like Lady Caca. With the fake Brit accent ,she tries to be Madonna, minus talent.

"Eating tons of sushi" is up along with, "I want to see a kangaroo (while I'm in Australia)". It always sounds like people have nothing better to say. Just something to stroke to minds of the masses.

YAY! Let's slam celebrities who actually haven't done anything wrong yet for no plausible reason. In fact because she's done nothing wrong, is just doing her job, promoting her CD,spreading the joy of music, and doing what she loves, let's kill her and hang her somewhere just because her music is unoriginal so that musicians everywhere will stop making music forever!! YAY!

The thing is, saying you want to eat lots of sushi is stuff that gets lapped up by the J-media. Don't talk about yourself and just mention how amazing Japan is and you'll be adored.

Music is a personal choice. Change the radio channel, don't by that CD if you don't like the music. Lady Gaga is not my style, but she is obviously someones. I respect others decision to listen, as I expect others to respect my decison not to.

But yeah, her sushi comment was worth bashing a bit.

I would like to take a look at her without this blond wig and heavy make-up. I guess nothing would be there.

Her song Poker Face is awesome.

From NY, used to be a stripper and writes her own music, and that of other artist. If i remember correctly, dropped out of high school to get into the music business...looks like she's doing well for herself....there are always people that hate....she's doing what she likes and not bad at it...Kitty, Poker face is awesome!! Thats coming from a guy....it reminds me of a night at the Roxyberry kinda song...

So L. Gaga was on the radio this afternoon, and I've never heard her music (I guess I'll look on Utube), but unscripted she was frikkin funny! If her music career falters, she has a second career as a comedienne. Thus ends this thread ends on a high note.
