A new perfume created by American pop diva Lady Gaga went on sale in Japan on Wednesday. The perfume, called Fame, debuted at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku shopping center ahead of its global launch in September.
The launch drew about 300 costumed Lady Gaga fans, known as Little Monsters. The first fans started lining up outside the shopping complex at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Last month, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to unveil the perfume ad campaign, which features tiny men crawling all over her naked body. Fame is described as "black like the soul of fame but invisible once airborne." It is black in the bottle but sprays clear and becomes invisible once in the air.
The perfume, which is manufactured by American company Coty Beauty Inc, comes in three bottles -- a 30-mil bottle for 4,725 yen and a 50-ml bottle for is being sold for 5,985 yen and a 100-ml bottle for 9,975 yen.

I'll bet Fame smells real good!

I really hate Lady Gaga and I'm sorry she's such a role model to young Japanese.

I would prefer her more if she didn't have the wacky image she presents. But some of her music is dare I say decent. I still wouldn't want my woman smelling like her though.

it makes you go GaGa?

Wow! Why all the negative posts? She/he is a performing artist and expresses her/his individuality well. I am not a GaGa fan, but do you want all musicians to be like Simon and Garfunkle? Really? Enjoy the variety of the performing arts. I will be buying a bottle of this for my GF. I don't care what it smells like cos I know she will love it.

most japanese people don't use anything with perfume (thank goodness). wonder if that will change just because the smelly stuff comes from gaga

I've always wanted to smell like Lady Gaga... now my dreams have come true.

hope the perfume is better than the music.

Lots of jealous JT posters.... I am sure your life has worked out how you hoped? I do not like much about her, but I totally respect her success and business acumen. She is more successful than you and me :)

Like we need more perfumes. I really get sick when the mother-in-law puts on her La Cucaracha perfume.

Though I like the artist, this is going to far...sellout!

Maybe she has no taste in perfume, who knows, but most artists have a perfume. So, let her do the same thing. Maybe smells good and maybe not ;)

Japan... or what I like to call Japan... 'Never Never Land', is the perfect place for Lady Gaga to sell her stuff. Everything in Japan is crumbling to the ground but no one seems to care. I cant wait to see next years Spring fashion lineup!!!

An intelligent, tallented and articulate young woman with a head for business and a message of empowerment for victims of bullying. Sad that so many people that would ordinarily harp on about the supposed sheep mentality of people in this country would jump on someone that shows a bit of individuality.

Can any one smell raw meat?

If it smells good, wear it! But that goes for any perfume.

You can write secret messages with that stuff. The receiver then sprays some antidote on received message and voilà :-)
