So sad, what a traumatic thing to go through when you're so young and trying to start a career. My best wishes for her recovery. I always liked her music.

Hopefully, this person, ‘Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta” will continue with both: therapy for her PTSD from her rape and, will continue to use her separate notoriety and persona as Lady Gaga to help others.

It's not surprising that her ordeal traumatized her. However, concealing the identity of the attacker has allowed him(or her?) to go on with impunity, much like Harvey Weinstein. The rapist has likely done the same thing to others as well.

Best wishes to her.

My best wishes for her recovery.

I'd say she already recovered.

@NAM 9:37am, @zichi 7:15am & @Hervé L'Eisa 10:07am all *seem sincere in acknowledging a trauma and wishing for someone’s recovery. - **So, we can’t understand someone else downvoting them, unless they’re just here to’roll over the topic? For example: @3:03pm and @4:17pm.? What’s the point of those *comments?

Regardless, you’re right @zichi 3:38pm. Despite her public persona, a person can “learn to accept” what happened, “but, it's always there.

She's almost certainly now many times wealthier than the man who violated her. Even without resorting to violence, some of those funds can be used creatively to make her attacker's life less comfortable. Or maybe she's already arranged for that and just isn't telling the whole story.

She modeled in black and white some of the most stunning photos ever taken but I do not recall the photographer's name. Beautiful photos. Possibly the trauma of the rape allowed for her to be so photogenic but nothing written about that.

I don't think you ever recover from rape, there is no going back.

Really? Even Lady Gaga said:

“For a couple years, I was not the same girl,” she said.

Sounds like she was back to her same self after a few years.

I am sad that she went through so much trauma. I am glad that she has recovered enough to have a successful career.

Is there no way she can talk to law enforcement privately, to guard her frailty, but at the same time lead them to investigate the individual who she says did such a horrendous thing? As someone else said, she might help to protect someone else, someone who might not be able to survive the ordeal.

Rape is always a serious crime and personal invasion.

And when it happens the target is never the same again.

I don't think you ever recover from rape, there is no going back. People learn to accept it but it's always there.

There is no 'going back'. Some people's virginities are taken away by this manner, and it's even worse because it was done by force - not consent. It's a sexual act but it's not a passionate one, it's violence. And yes it's an invasion, an unwelcome intrusion - one that can leave deep psychological scars lasting a lifetime. And that's what makes it so harmful and tragic.

Rape is ‘Rape’. It’s violence against another human being.

Folks, please don’t let this ‘bit of “*Entertainment* pass you ‘discerning eyes’ and comments *Today*:

*- “The sex scene in movies isn't disappearing – it's shifting from clichéd fantasy to messy reality” ? -*

What confusion is Hollywood now trying to create by mixing ‘sexual fantasy’ and the ‘harsh reality’ and ‘live-long’ effects of rape? It’s not fantasy for titillation and “Entertainment”.

Sincerely sorry for your anguish @Kobe White Bar Owner 9:11am.

“I’ve had PTSD and it’s horrid.” -*

We wish the best for you and others on their continued recovery from those experiences.

Thanks snowy!

it’s like a fog you can’t get past. Like the refreshing morning splash of water over your face but it doesn’t work anymore. Human are cruel and can do extremely cruel things and those experiences change your very core. Empathy is going to die soon. As a young Japanese what empathy means for instance.

Ask a young.. typo

Did just that @KobeWhiteBarOwner 7:55pm.

“Empathy is going to die soon. Ask a young Japanese what empathy means for instance.

The teenage & young adult relatives were somewhat perplexed by the question and the concept. It seems they’re ‘taught’ empathy as a social mechanism, to control behavior and interactions yet, ‘few’ may actually ‘feel’ empathy.

There’s the typical PR and travel about Japanese culture:

https://guidable.co/culture/how-japanese-culture-is-built-on-empathy/

and, then there’s this:

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/community/2014/04/30/issues/tackling-the-empathy-deficit-toward-non-japanese/

Sadly, many people lack any ‘real’ compassion for their fellow human beings. As we’ve seen reflected in a number of the posts and downvotes above, some definitely lack any ‘real’ empathy for the multi-millionaire ‘Star’ as a human being. They seem to have kind of a “just deal with it” or, “just get over it” attitude.

I explained integrity and empathy to group of “education” 20’s Japanese and they looked at me like a dog that had just been shown a magic trick!
