I wholeheartedly agree. Robert Plant wants to keep it real, and big stadium business is not keeping it real.

I saw Led Zeppelin at the Chicago stadium (the old stockyards where the Bulls used to play) back in the 70s. 7 nights sold out within hours. I remember my best friend had camped out at the ticket box the night before to buy tickets with lots of other kids. Zeppelin opened the show with "Nobody's Fault But Mine" and it never sounded so good. It was a great concert until Jimmy Page got too sick to play, probably too drunk to go on, and they had to end half-way through. I guess it was the only time that they ever did that before. They were supposed to come back to Chicago and play just one concert again just for us, but then everything seemed to hit the fan after that and it never came to pass. Tragedy struck, Plant's son died suddenly and not too long after John (Bonzo) Bonham died after drinking too much, and then it was all over for Zeppelin. Anyway, as a bunch of rowdy teenagers, we were just happy to have seen them because they were historic as far as we were concerned.

What a shame, one of the true legends who would be worth going to see again.

I love Robert Plant and I agree with his stance on selling out, but there's no need to sneer at other musicians who choose to tour. Not everybody made (and kept) zillions of dollars before they turned 30.

I mean COME ON, you're talking about the LED ZEPPELIN here!!! Never releases a single even during their prime time, always the perfect albums, perfect sound, each of them unique and revolutionary. Had the talent to become multimillionaires in their 20-30s and had the brains to keep and multiply the money - no need to spoil such a perfect career...

Nice for him that he no longer needs to work for a living, but I have a lot of respect for the guys who are willing to hit the road again, to help out a band mate who is in need of the cash. And those who get out there and work so that the legions of fans can enjoy it.

The pentatonic scale, upon which blues-rock is based, is pretty limited. You can only play 5 notes, often in specific patterns, and in a 12 or 16-bar framework. So you're missing the point: it's not what notes you play, it's now you express them.

When I hear a Jimmy Page solo, I KNOW it's Jimmy Page, from his distinctive expression.

Plant is turning down $500 million or so, I would guess he could take up to 50% of the tour revenues. Would of course love to see them again but without Plant it is not Zep. Same goes for Page. What a pity, Plant could make millions of fans happy if Zep did tour. They would put the Stones to shame, and every other rock band that tours today.

Robert then don't take any money or give it to charity, now you are just saying F you longtime fans.

While Brit Rock did do some good for the blues guys, often WELL after the fact, they took more than just note, lyrics as well, check out how much stuff that Willie Dixion wrote that make mega $$$$ for rock & rollers!!

Father has a shrine to Led Zeppelin, alone with lyrics from 'Stairway To Heaven', recites them like passages out the old testament. Any mention of Sensational Space Shifters (one Robert Plant's latest projects) and Dads lights are on but no one's at home. The progressive rock generation has become dazed and confused moving forward with Led Zeppelins musical legacy. Elderly rock gods seem to grumble more than perform.

If not stadium, how about what they did best? Studio recordings. Nobody but nobody worked as well and sounded as good as Zeppelin. But hey, why not respect their wishes and let them do whatever they want to do.

I am a Led Zep fan. I got lots of their music to listen to. If Plant does not want to tour, I support him, whatever his reasons.

The only thing I don't approve of is too strong of criticism for other aging musicians. Some them have to make a deal with the devil because they are broke.

And of course the other thing is, and I don't know whose fault it is, but CDs of old music are way too expensive. Oh well. I got Youtube and an MD recorder, so the jipsters can go to hell.
