Doris Day, actress who honed wholesome image, dies at 97

As a boy, the first song of hers that I heard was "Sentimental Journey" 1945? There were may others over the years after.

The Doris Day Show comedy was always a bit funny, in the 70s I think it was.

"I have the unfortunate reputation of being Miss Goody Two-Shoes, America's Virgin, and all that, so I'm afraid it's going to shock some people for me to say this, but I staunchly believe no two people should get married until they have lived together," she wrote.

When she was interviewed in the Johnny Carson show, Doris Day said that her image being America's Virgin and Miss Goody Two-Shoes was boring and "it's not human"

A fine actor, singer, and an excellent woman who fought to protect those who can't protect themselves. Fly straight, Ms Day - you lived a good life and have left a great legacy.

I have a soft spot for Ms Day and spent many hours in her company in my youth. RIP Doris and thanks for bringing joy into my life and millions of others.
