Liverpool a city of music, culture, and education.

Sad, sad sad, the place that gave us the Beatles has to suffer through this ear bleeding monstrosity.
Anyone thinks anything great comes out or that this is showcasing each countries best.
Let me remind you that Celine Dion won representing Switzerland and her family has zero connection to the country.
Basically a country can put whoever they want.
It is generally a Freakshow that is still socially acceptable.

Liverpool is proud to host the Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine.

@Antiquesaving
It’s a music show.
There are more important things to get upset about.
Don’t watch it if you don’t like it.
Erik Morales
Oh please, don't appease these cry babies.
Antiquesaving
A music show!
Have you actually watched it lately.
Music is secondary to the freak show and social messaging is primary
If Celine Dion was participating today she would be eliminated in the first round, far to plain.
She would need something like a third leg, a beard, full body tattoo on how special she is.
Just being a great singer wouldn't cut it today.
Jimizo
Yes. A music show. People sing play music. People ‘social messaging’ doesn’t stop it being a music show. Footballers taking the knee before a football match doesn’t stop it being a football match.
It’s a music show.
Yes, Have you? You got triggered the other day over a play in London you hasn’t seen and so I think it’s a reasonable question to ask.
Do you deliberately watch things which infuriate you?
I think you need to look at the history of winners of this music show. It hasn’t seen many Sam Cookes over the years. It’s always had a bit of novelty and silliness to it. That’s part of the fun.
Don’t take it so seriously.
As someone from Liverpool with family living there, I’m happy to see something which could boost the economy of the city.
My advice is not to watch it if you don’t like it unless you enjoy getting outraged.
Anyway, good for my hometown. Let the music, novelty and ‘social messaging’ commence.
Antiquesaving
And you got triggered by both my comments which begs the question which one of us is really the one triggered?
I commented on the article/ subject in both cases you commented on my comment which upset you!
I guess in today's day and age we are not permitted to have our own opinion without someone else telling us we are wrong or "triggered".
Here is something, try commenting on the article and leave others to their own opinion!
Fighto!
Great news!
The good people of Liverpool have soul, and will welcome the Ukrainians and do them justice. They will put on an awesome show!
Will it be held at Anfield? A stadium gig there would be sensational!

@Antiquesaving
You commented, I commented on your post which I thought was interesting, although I disagreed with it
You then replied to my comment, I replied back. Why you are unhappy about this reply is a bit strange.
I see this is a bit upsetting for you but I don’t understand why.
I genuinely apologise. It won’t happen again.

Will it have
The Whining Song by Mike Lane?

Not quite sure why @Antiquesaving is so upset about this. Yes, sure it's become a novelty showcase for many years now but at the end of the day it's just a bit of fun, and I suspect he is more upset that it's being hosted on behalf of Ukraine than anything.
Nothing ever 'great' ever came out of it? Not my cup of tea but have you heard of a group called ABBA that sold just a few records in their day and still have a huge fanbase?
Antiquesaving
I didn't say nothing great or good came out of it.
If you read my post I said today Celine Dion ( won in 1988) wouldn't get past first rounds.
I doubt ABBA would even have qualified in today's Eurofreak show.
You inadvertently made my point. It isn't a music competition anymore it is a best freak singing show competition.
ABBA, Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, etc.. wouldn't even get in today not freaks enough.

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be staged in the English city of Liverpool
Hope this does some good for the area, as the city has historically been battered with drugs and crimes.
Worst in drug admissions in the UK.

Guns and gangs.

On the plus side, the American owned Liverpool FC has been a positive contribution.
Have the contest in the Stadium.

Liverpool is a great city. They know how to put on a party.
You sound real fun. All music is some kind of social messaging.
Bob Fosse
Great news for Liverpool. UK haven’t won since the 90’s but you never know.
Jimizo
Exactly.
Also, I think some people misunderstand what the Eurovision is about. It’s gaudy, fun, a bit silly and not to be taken seriously.
It’s a bit like an ice-hockey or baseball game.

Valid points.
And I love ABBA.
Måneskin actually had a good tune, but for the remainder of entrants, its a mess.
ClippetyClop
It’s being held at the Arena down by the docks. Gonna be a cracking night out in Liverpool that weekend, would be good to be home for it.
Liverpool still one of the best party towns in the world

That was great when the American-led band won it for the UK.
It would be cool for the Liverpool FC's American-owned Stadium to be the locale this year; bring a bit of the luck of the Irish to it at the same time.
ClippetyClop
It’s weird and a bit sad that you are so desperate to make this about America
