I'm sure it won't be biased or anything.

I do like some pop music, even some silly stuff. 'I'm Too Sexy' for most of today's Top 40 however. It's too manufactured.

Well, back in the late 80’s a lot of people as well as musicians didn’t think RAP was music or even an art form

LOL! A hell of a lot still dont.

Rap was pretty innovative when it started around 1979. Grandmaster Melle Mel, Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow were good at making rhymn, rhythmn and flow at the drop of a hat. And it usually wasn't dirty either. That changed when 2 Live Cru put their first albun out in late 1986.

There are lots of great artists who perform from the heart, but pop artists don't (or can't) do that.

I’m not so sure. I saw Amy Winehouse in a live performance on TV and she gave it about as much as I’ve seen from a live singer. Given her drug problems, her ‘Rehab‘ was sounded pretty genuine to me.

She had it all, she was a beacon during the worst decade for music. It's a damn shame she abused herself like she did.

Nobody will bother to watch her silly film. Nobodys going to give this article - or Madge - another thought.

There is no single Sucky Madonna Movie, really. Matter of fact, all of her movies suck. (heartbeats)

Rush - good musicians but mostly pretentious drivel. Pink Floyd are of course much better but they can fall into the trap of 20-minute ‘profound’ nonsense songs,

Not a big fan of either, but I would rate Rush as the far better musicians. I enjoy listening to them play even if their songwriting is weak. Pink Floyd are better songwriters, but always dripping with pretension and humorless, plodding bits. They needed Syd Barrett.

LOL! A hell of a lot still dont.

You are very fond of telling us what is and isn’t art. Bass and Starpunk tell us what music they regard as good, but you just seem to snipe. I can give my opinion on Rush - good musicians but mostly pretentious drivel. Pink Floyd are of course much better but they can fall into the trap of 20-minute ‘profound’ nonsense songs, and don’t get me started on ‘concept albums’. Rap generally doesn’t do it for me because it’s musically uninteresting. I have time for catchy bubblegum pop - it’s actually quite difficult to write standout ones.

What music are you into? Don’t just snipe. Give us a standard to judge from.

When I first heard that song it was the very first time I switched my radio off because i was disgusted by the lyrics. Now I'm not one to judge a song entirely by its lyrical content. Not all bands are hi-IQ like RUSH, Pink Floyd or RATM but her self-effacification in the song (and the mock new wave trappings made for the Yuppies) totally turned me off.

Well, back in the late 80’s a lot of people as well as musicians didn’t think RAP was music or even an art form and MTV wouldn’t even play it in those days and it took a long time of fighting to get the recognition that it is a true art form and if anyone can “free flow” off the fly like Busta, E-40 or Eminem has got my serious respect and it IS a true art form, go and watch a live battle, just amazing. Madonna isn’t a “great” musician, but go to any Karaoke bar in the world and you’ll see an entire catalog of this woman’s songs. The woman at one point had her own recording Studio on Santa Monica blvd. “Maverick Records” while a lot of musicians were still going to outside recording studios. The woman made millions, you don’t need to like her, but give the woman some credit. Waiting tables to becoming one of the most popular pop singers on the planet is NO small achievement.

And self promotion, all the me-me-ME doesn't butter my biscuit and when she put out that disgusting 'Sex' book I quit paying attention to her, quit watching her videos. I quit giving a damn.

That book was a hot seller at the time....Naomi Campbell...ohh...

And if you're going to be a sex god(dess), show some class not sleazy porn crap. There are plenty of performers who are sex idols who don't get into stupid kinky stuff or let their sex appeal eclipse the music.

Sex sells, that’s just a fact and her way has always helped her. At least she’s not trashy like Cardi B. Madonna doesn’t write lyrics that have nothing but 90% curse words in it.

She’s great. Do you play any instruments? I can tell you how to play Material Girl if you like

I only have one album of Madonna's, and that is Ray of Light, because I like William Orbit.

She’s such a sharp media manipulator and so good at getting attention

Oh, most impressive. Shes right up there with the Khardadhians, Jessica Simpson, and a million other airheads.

I’ll pass thanks. But have at it by all means.

Nobody will bother to watch her silly film.

You can’t know that nobody will bother to watch it nor can you judge a film you haven’t seen.

Don’t be so prejudiced.

My observation is shared by many. She’s such a sharp media manipulator and so good at getting attention. She’s got more comments here than many articles about the death of famous musicians. Very shrewd woman with a thick catalogue of hits behind her.

She’s great. Do you play any instruments? I can tell you how to play Material Girl if you like

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Is she going to keep her clothes on and learn how to sing?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Sharp woman. Always been a smart media manipulator, often winding people up to get her name in the news and getting people to talk about her whether it’s positive or negative.

Jimizo, I know you love “winding up” but really, does this qualify? People spend a minute posting their opinion.

Nobody will bother to watch her silly film. Nobodys going to give this article - or Madge - another thought.

This comments section is a perfect example.

She also winds up music snobs.

She’s great. Keep it going.

Material Girl is a great track. I can play that on piano.

I usually don’t agree with, but on this, you’re right. Madge is definitely a smart and shrewd businesswoman. She does have talent, she’s not the glamorous Diva like Ross, Houston, Braxton or Baker, but she knows the business and she’s definitely a hard worker and expects her entire grew to work hard and stay fit, nothing wrong with that and sure, she’s wrote some teeth grinding slop a couple of times, but overall, she’s cranked out some memorable and historic tunes, not to be underestimated. Nothing was given to the girl, she did her first gig as back up vocals for Patrick Hernandez’s “Born to be alive” and she really did the sweat and grind route to start in NY saved her own money, produced her first video “Everybody” and later on to LA and being from Michigan as well? Not an easy thing to do. Yeah, gotta give her props for lasting as long as she did compared to the one hit wonder chicks that came and went.

Nah...she is looking over 60..age catches up to all of us, bone structure etc changes...it shows

She looks different, but she doesn't look 60. Its kind of neat. She does look like a teenager in that photo, but not what she herself looked like as a teenager 45 years ago. Madonna at 62 looks like a kind of average looking teenager rather than the bombshell she was back in the day. Her cheeks are kind of chubby and her teeth are sticking out a bit which gives her a kind of doofus smile. Its very endearing.

but Im sure she will keep up the act as long as she can

For some reason I get a kick out of the fact that at 62 Madonna looks like a teenager awkwardly smiling for a yearbook photo.

What a primadonna!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Sounds like a Rolling Stones geriatric reform tour.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Surely it's an autobiopic?

Expression is life!

I wish her well, in it.

She should teach marketing 101 - how to sell your chacha, Kim Kardashian is one of her star pupils.

Another vanity project.

“This movie is an absolute labor of love for me,” said Pascal

Sounds like it's a labor of love for Madonna too.

'My Life: How You Lay Your Way To the Top and Be a Dumb Megastar Making Money For Nothing Just Like Me'.

A guide book for the Britney Spears, Hillary Duffs, and Lady Cacas of the future!

And a bad example for serious women musicians.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Her narcissism is giving her flakiness a real run for the money!

16 ( +17 / -1 )

Who would of thought? HA!

"A movie starring me! Directed by me! About me!" We can call it Me-donna!

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Who is going to play Madonna in the movie? There just isn't anybody who can.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Ouch!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

if a biopic written, directed and starring Madonna falls in the forest, does anybody hear?
