This surprised me, had no idea she was ill. After hearing she would be involved in the new ST project, I assumed nothing was wrong. She should be happy now together with the Great Bird of the Galaxy, Scotty and Bones. Warp Speed.

Wow, it took Japan Today for me to find this news out... I have not seen it anywhere in the US yet... Star Trek shaped my life for me from the late 1960's onward - it has been a part of my life forever and inspired many dreams for me. May she rest in peace - a new star is shining in heaven today.

Born Majel Lee Hudec on Feb 23, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio,

Where'd the Barret come from?

The First Lady of Star Trek's best character was as Counselor Deanna Troi's mother.

Thank you, and Rest in Peace, Majel.

That is sad news. Thanks for the memories--from the sexy Nurse Chapel to Roxanna Troy. And yes, as the dark-haired Number One opposite "Capt. Christopher Pike" from the original pilot--she was in Star Trek from its birth. I'm sure the casts and crews from entire franchise are in tears today. Majel Barrett Roddenberry will be remembered as long as Star Trek lives. She will always be the Grande Madame of the Federation.

"sexy Nurse Chapel"

Sexy? Don't know about the "sexy" bit, but I really liked the episode where she made a bowl of soup for Spock, whom she was in love with, and Spock, who was in the midst of a Vulcan mid-life crisis, threw the bowl of soup back at her.

"Majel Barret Roddenberry will be remembered as lng as Star Trek lives."

Star Trek will always live. Stay tuned for the new movie coming out in 2009.

"She will always be the Grande Madame of the Federation.

Yesh, she will be.

Oh, yes, "Amok Time"--one of the best episodes from the original series. The music by Gerald Fried (once parodied by Jim Carey) was also memorable.
