Web portal My Navi conducted a survey in July, asking students who will graduate in 2015 what song best describes their job-hunting efforts.

"Makenaide" (Don't lose) by ZARD took the top spot for the second year in a row.

Here is the list of the songs ranked second to 10th.

  1. "Arinomamade~Let it go~" (the theme song from "Frozen")
  2. "Nando demo" (DREAMS COME TRUE)
  3. "Owarinaki tabi" (Mr. Children)
  4. "Eiko no Kakehashi" (Yuzu)
  5. "Zenryoku Shonen" (Sukima Switch)
  6. "Progress" (kukua, Suga Shikao)
  7. "Ato Hitotsu" (Funky Monkey Babies)
  8. "Fight!" (Miyuki Nakajima)
  9. "Yume wo Mikata ni" (Ayaka)

“Makenaide” (Don’t lose)

I think "Don't give up" would be a better translation. "Don't lose" sounds dumb.

Glad they're inspired by ZARD's "Makenaide." I still find it sad what happened to the group's singer Sakai Izumi (1967-2007).

I must have missed something - but since when have job-hunters had "theme songs"?

In the end, it will be a lost cause.
