Maki Horikita flying high in animated 3D movie

Actress Maki Horikita, 20, joined the crowd in donning a pair of 3D glasses for a special screening of “Nat’s Space Adventure 3D” held at a Tokyo movie theater recently. Horikita supplies the Japanese voice for the main character - a young fly called Nat who, with his buddies I.Q. and Scooter, sneaks aboard the rocket carrying Apollo 11 before its launch to the moon in 1969.

The animated 3D film, known as “Fly Me to the Moon” in the West, is directed by Ben Stassen, 50, who came to Japan for the special preview. The Belgian director said: “I’ve just met Maki, but she is beautiful and has a great voice. I’d like to use her sexy voice for the sea turtle in my second animated movie ‘Around the World in 50 Days.’”

After watching the movie, Horikita said: “Even though I knew what was going to happen, it was really entertaining having things fly out in 3D.” She added that she now likes flies and can no longer pick up a fly swat.

“Nat’s Space Adventure 3D” opens in cinemas on March 28.
