Of course each one of these "stars" could just pull a million dollars out of each of their pockets but that would solve the problem and that is not the goal of this event.

They're doing what they can. Maybe it's genuine, maybe it's misguided etc.

Whether or not we like celebs and their occasional hypocrisies, I'd rather they make the effort than not.

The rich and famous who have made thier millions from the public now asking the public to contribute.

Looked at another way, the rich contributing thier .001 percent while asking us to contribute our 1 percent.

Why do media outlets even publish articles about these attention seeking hypocrites who give thier .001%?

How about publishing articles about the multitudes of nurses, volunteers and charity foot soldiers who are giving thier 100% helping the suffering on a daily basis without fanfare?

That said, at least U2 did something which benefitted people.

Yes and no.

His vanity and zeal knows no bounds, almost certainly, if you were to take seriously the tonnes of comments written and posted about him, over the years. There'd be no contest in the ego stakes.

But a great performer, when it mattered. If you can excuse that "play the blues, Edge" moment...

I’m just saying Bono is cringeworthy. I saw it myself at a U2 concert with a friend who was a big fan. He basically said Bono is a twat but he can sing and the music is good. I have never been a big U2 fan but I agreed with him. Good gig if you could ignore Bono’s posturing and preening.
