Streep says in a statement Monday that Weinstein "needed me much more than I needed him and he made sure I didn't know." The Oscar winner says her association with him brought him credibility, which she says he used "to lure young, aspiring women into circumstances where they would be hurt."

Yeah Meryl, we believe you! I had to read this paragraph twice to believe my eyes. Talk about a conceded statement! With the voracious gossip and rumor machine in Hollywood, how could anyone on the inside not know? The hypocrisy of these people totally destroys any credibility they pretend to have.

She gave Roman Polanski praise after his conviction for rape. Hypocrisy

Streep says she's sorry McGowan sees her as an adversary because they are on the same side in the fight to eradicate the status quo power structure in Hollywood.

Then stop making stupid chic movies and chose scripts that address the big white elephant.

Why do people even car what Hollywood celebrities think? It's not like they are Nobel Prize winners or holders of multiple degrees.

Yep...just like some people are only a bit pregnant.

I agree on Streep's hypocritical support for Roman Polanski, the proven child rapist. Was that crime just?

Also, are we to believe she was the only person in Hollywood not to know about Weinstein's behaviour..?

Streep says in a statement ...

... response to a since-deleted tweet from Rose McGowan ..

Methinks that the two different modes of communication tell something.

Personally, I would not engage in eye-gauging like this on Twitter or any social media unless I had some other purpose than just saying what I wanted to say.

Nothing good seems to be coming out of this whole sexual harrassment/assault/whatever, and certainly not any redemption. It all seems so sad. Sadder still is that some of those people have carried all this for 40 years or more.

If she didn't know anything then why doesn't she just shut up now?

Any headlines are better than no headlines........

It is always easy to say afterward. But it not easy to imagine someone you know is pedophile or a rapist. Denial is always greater than truth.

This is not about being an hypocrite, but more about being a courageous humain being in front of the truth no matter insane she can become at your own eyes.

And don't underestimate the difficulty about it when you can't even stand to be told your mom and dad sucks.

Carpe diem,

EDEN.
