Mika Kano will lend her voice to the Japanese-language version of one episode of the popular American medical drama series "House M.D." It will be Kano's first foray into voice acting.

She will provide the voice for episode 11 of Season 4 (to be shown in Japan on Fox Television on Jan 5. Her character, played by Mira Sorvino, is a psychiatrist who is trapped at the South Pole, whom House (Hugh Laurie) and his team must treat via webcam. The episode was one of the highest rated in the series when it was shown on U.S. television last year.

Kano attended a promotional event at a cinema in Toyosu, Tokyo, to announce the news. "I want to look like a sexy doctor," she said of her outfit, which she said her sister Kyoko helped to coordinate.

Good for Kano-san! Mika has been a profound voice in empowering women, creating foreign relations, and promoting beauty and well being. Anyone who has lived and worked in Japan has been aware of the seminars held by the Kano sisters on healthy living and well being. And whether they are personal or not, their foreign relations have served as a building block for Japan/foreign nations communications and relationship building. I look forward to the day, when Mika and maybe Kyoko achieve some sort of diplomatic status. After all, look at Nicholas Cage. Maybe the catch, is to marry a foreigner...

Holy smokes! that's a bad picture.

Man, that episode is super old... Aired in January of 2008, so it'll be 2 years old by the time this thing airs. Mika Kano still looked remotely attractive back in those days.

She looks good, with my glasses off.

Does her voice fit the character in House? Or is this just one of those... The person is popular, let's have them do something.

Does her voice fit the character in House?

Uhh, no. In case you're unfamiliar with her, the actress in House is Mira Sorvino. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University before going off to become an Academy Award winning actress. While I am not overly familiar with Ms. Kano's professional achievements (beyond being a large-chested tarento), judging from the photograph above I think I can safely assume her vocal portrayal of the Sorvino character will fall a bit short of the real thing.

There should be a 'Caption this picture' competition.

Japan must be the only country in the world to still use dubbing on major releases like this.

Surely anybody with half an ounce of taste and a genuine interest in the arts would accept nothing less than peer-edited subtitles.

Oh wait...

A major release ??? (to the the Japanese dwelling subscribers of Fox ??) House is 'art'? You take your TV much more seriously than most...

An episode of 'House'?

And here I was thinking they'd released another zombie movie...

also - i do think this was already aired. unless it was a different episode where someone was at the south pole......

a classic 3 baggers !!

seriously scary, jt you shudnt do that!!

1st impression - evil elf.

A dubbed version of House, that is odd. The snobbishness of Dr. House would probably be lost in translation.

a classic 3 baggers !!

Remember to leave a mouth hole. For the voice acting.

This woman looks a disgrace. Imagine if kids saw this kind of photo , it is morally wrong!!

Actually this is for season 5. They already showed season 4 in Japan and that episode takes place in season 5.

Mika Kano looks like she is promoting an erotic video, wearing what looks like lingerie not clothes. Totally inappropriate to advetise a children's movie.

awesome! now I can not watch it in two languages!

a true horrow show
