Up-and-coming actress and singer Miley Ray Cyrus turned 17 on Monday and it was celebrated in Japan with the launch of her cute clothing range “Miley & Max Azria” in Shibuya.
Billed as the next Britney Spears, Cyrus was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and was originally named Destiny Hope by her parents – her father being country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, 48. She has enjoyed ongoing success in Disney Channel’s "Hannah Montana" and last year she was named in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Her cute clothing range – a collaboration with fashion designer Max Azria, 60, and sold exclusively at Walmart stores in the U.S. – will sell in Japan at a new store called PGS TEEN, located in PARCO in Shibuya. The range includes tops, pants, graphic T-shirts and shoes, and one critic described it as “completely inoffensive but totally snoozeworthy.”
Cyrus’ album “The Time of Our Lives” – which was released in the U.S. in August to promote the clothing range – will go on sale in Japan on Jan 13, when Cyrus is scheduled to visit Japan.© Japan Today
