I love Maki Nishiyama, but I still do not understand why she would not use birth control. My girlfriend, being the cynical person that she is believes that the women in most instances are looking to get pregnant, especially if they are over thirty, so they encourage the "contraceptive free" sex.

You can't tell that if you've not seen his bank accounts. If he has personal fortune, he is ripe... to become a future ex-hubby paying child alimony. That's what the situation requires.

Japanese seem to take a greater responsibility after they have gotten themselves in a situation. But in general they seem less educated about sex. It takes two people to make a baby, so they are both doing something wrong if it wasn't planned.

One just has to look around a bit online, and you can find lots of other stories. Japanese men are notorious for absolutely refusing to wear condoms, (preferring the pull out method) and birth control pills are not readily available for women.

They are actively discouraged by doctors, and abortion is a far more common form of "contraception" here.

kimuzukashiiiii - You may well be correct. As for Japanese men being notorious for having sex without a condom....well most of them cave-in pretty quick when the woman tells them, "No condom, no sex". Obviously I am not blaming anybody here, because it ultimately comes down to both people.

It still astounds me how many celebrities get pregnant. Do not their agencies tell them to be "safe"? Probably not because their agencies more than likely see it as another form of publicity; now that it is me being cynical.

I read this news in another website, Why people don't have faith that this could work?, Granted, there are many "shotgun" weddings, but tis couple has been living together for almost two years now, it's not surprising that she got pregnant before thinking seriously about a wedding.

Because a) it's a shotgun wedding b) He's 21 c) Shotgun weddings don't have a great happiness/staying together rate d) It's been commented on that they've previously had problems - which would have been around the time the bean was conceived. e) "Star" (and I use this is the loosest terms ever) marriages don't have a great success rate f) put all of them together and well, we're not dumb

The three -- woman, man and the unborn child -- confront trying to build a life of happiness in a world where so many exist to foster and foment contempt and cynicism. I wish them the very best in the face of those challenges.

Faith ? If I was religious, I'd pray for the baby. You've read so you saw the photos ? He has beaten her in public several times and once in front of journalists, so imagine how many times besides... She found her pregnancy after their separation. It seems their agencies marry them. It's a double shot-gun.

Cos, thanks for the info. Had no idea. WHY is she marrying him? Japan really needs to update itself on single mothers and how often, they are the better thing rather than an abusive husband/father in the picture.

I didn't realize that he was abusive. It has now gone from joke relationship to sick relationship.
