Model Masuwaka files for divorce from actor Umeda

Model Tsubasa Masuwaka, 27, announced on her blog on Monday that she and actor Naoki Umeda, 30, have filed for divorce. Rumors of an impending divorce had been swirling for most of last year, after they started living apart in November of 2011.

The couple married on Christmas Day 2007 and have a 4-year-old son.

Writing on her blog, Masuwaka said she and Umeda discussed their marriage in great detail and decided it would be best to go their separate ways. She apologized to fans for making such a serious announcement on her blog and thanked them for their support.

There is no need to posting an insulting remark.

I feel bad for the child. Most of these celebrity marriages are encouraged by their managers because it keeps both celebrities in the news. Rarely do the marriages last, but when a child becomes involved it's tragic for the child when the marriage breaks up.

Ah, the usual end to he celebrity shot-gun marriage. 'Tis a shame, but no surprise.

Married 5 years, neither of them particularly young or old, no major age discrepancy, no shotgun marriage evident since the kid is 4. They gave it a go for 4 years, separated for a year, have realised they don't can't be happily married anymore, and have decided to end their marriage, quite amicably, it seems.

This all sounds very much like what a lot of non-celebs are doing with their lives - meeting people, getting married, having a kid, splitting up, moving on.

Why all this excessive, entirely unnecessary and unfair criticism?

A young Japanese finds her price charming, whose half Spanish half Japanese, a Tiffany for an engagement ring, a attire for a wedding band, a fairy tale wedding, a beautifully baby girl with foreign features, then reality steps in, finds married life boring and uncomfy, she files for divorce, snatches her baby and disappears to who knows where? It's the pattern of these girls. And we are left with our mouths open in wonder.

Mrkobayashi, i was just trying to tell you what I thought you didn't know, sorry if I hurt your feelings..that wasn't my intention at all... Actually my point of my message or comment was that nowadays there seems to be a trend going on with Japanese girls not really unde rstanding the true meaning of marriage. anyway, I hope I made myself clear to you, ok

Quite so, but to each his or her own!

During my patents generation, marriages lasted because they fixed whatever problems or troubles they had, even if it lasted a lifetime, rather than just giving up. Besides tha we were taught to believe that marriage is a sacrament, a union of two hearts becoming one in everything. Japanese don't have those values and belief. They think that marriage is all about fun, bringing up cute babies, dressing them up with cute clothes, having the best and expensive brand strollers, owning your own house, egg...the list goes on.....
