"Talent" Mona Yamamoto, 34, on Monday said in a statement faxed to media that she had married the president of a real estate investment company one year her junior whom she had been dating for some time. The couple went to their local ward office to register their marriage, which is Yamamoto's second.

In the statement, Yamamoto -- who attended Monday night's Japan premiere for "The A Team" film, said that she would be cutting back her showbiz activities. "From now on, I'd like to support my husband so we can build a happy home together."

The date for an official wedding ceremony and reception has not yet been decided upon. Yamamoto, who denied being pregnant, said at the end of last year that she hopes to have three children.

The couple have no plans to hold a press conference, but fans can no doubt expect to hear more about her marriage plans during her regularly broadcast "Otake Makoto Golden Radio!" program (weekdays 10 p.m.).

Wow, what an enormous drop in status! From TV announcer to "Talent." That places her in a small group of "talent" that actually have a college education, given that most "talent" are high school dropouts (no pun intended).

How long until she announces she's pregnant?

Her life in the tabloids has been more entertaining than all the other Japanese TV put together.

I am sure all the married women with rich, powerful husband are all sighing their relief. She would not survive in Japan if she cheated as a married women.

The women is a gold digger and I have no idea why anyone would see this creature as anything but a shallow, vapid being.

She found a hubby that has some money, guess she needed that cushion cuz her career wasn't going anywhere.

She had a rep for going after taken guys and got bashed and still is after marrying.People are so fickle and petty, especially women.Would hate to be one in my next life.Women hating on women is the worst type there is. And also, the onus should be on the married man to resist the temptation, since he has more to lose than the single temptress.

"The A Team film"

There is no plan B.

the onus is on the married man, then why does the claws come out for Mona from other women?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The claws come out because she gives decent women a bad rep. Again, gold digging ho. Not a comparison any woman wants. And yes, the men certainly is at fault but it wasn't just one married man she went after.

The tabloids need the Monas, the Monas need the tabloids... its a symbiotic relationship.

Faxed? The internet allows you to connect more directly to your audience (as well as the media). What advantage does 30-year-old technology have over a website and a twitter account?

internet leaves a digital trail, you need to know these things when sneaking around

fax machines: the email of the 80s. Except we now have email. I think fax machines went to Japan to die. Like George Michael christmas songs.

tmarie, Without knowing anything about the exact details, you pin most of the blame on Mona. Proof that a woman's worst enemy is another woman. What if she were seduced by these men? It wouldn't be the first time a man has lied to a woman for sex. "My wife and I are looking to separate," or "We don't have a real marriage," or the like. What's she supposed to do? Call and confirm? It's possible she was lied to- I mean at the very least we know for a fact that the men were lairs: they had to lie to their wives about the affair till caught. Who's to say they weren't lying to Mona too? I would hate to be the victim of someone's lies and then have everyone hate me because I was naive enough to believe them. I would just back off of the hatred. Without all the details, we don't know it could be all unjustified.

"I am sure all the married women with rich, powerful husband are all sighing their relief."

Why? I mean if she IS the evil witch you believe she is, why would marriage suddenly make it all better and be a deterrent? It certainly wasn't a deterrent for those married men she was with. Why would it be for her?

I will indeed agree that women are their own worst enemy. The Mona type being the worst of it. A smart women would not want to get involved with someone in a relationship or a break up. Mona has a habit for going for the first time. She's not clever. Certainly the man needs to be held to account but in the case of Mona, she had made it a clear pattern - much like Angelina Jolie. I have zero respect for these type of women - and nor do most other women. There will always be the type who want what they can't have and try their best to have it. Why would anyone decent human find this attractive?

A man may want to marry a woman will make a good wife. At the he same time, he want a woman that he can play around with.

Wish Mona the best in her upcoming marriage.

In Japan, anything that is written on paper is considered more polite than a digital message.
