Most wrinkle faced rock bands seem to go on and on, so why can't a classic comedy troupe like Python reunite? Maybe even good for a laugh.

And now for something completely different.

Until I saw the name Robin Williams, I was looking forward to it. That guy is a loser and hates people. I met him in NY once when he was drunk and he called me, my friends and others a bunch of little losers an peons. His friend tried to apologize, and use the drunk excuse.

Zeh-hee.

Great news for us Monty Python fans, all we have to do now is persuade AKB 48 to do the advertisement for the film in Japan dressed as aliens and it will be a runaway success. @MaboDofuisSpicy That was a nasty thing for Williams to say to you. I would feel the same way. Being a loser is OK, but calling us underlings Peons going too far.

Wow, that's a bit of history!

Talent, in every sense of the word. :-)

It will be a miracle if they can rekindle the old magic, but I hope they can.

i remember john cleese commenting that london, because of its large immigrant populace and changing attitudes, was no longer a british city. i feared for his life. but in the end the p.c. police did not jail him or have him hanged. good to see that monty python is back.

The world needs more Monty Python teams...Long live Monty Python

2 ( +3 / -1 )

this is scary...like the Beatles reforming ...will they still be funny? - Python, NOT the Beatles..nudge, nudge, wink, wink say no more....say no more!

They may be pension age now, but class is permanent as they say. Just hope they don't duck any of the taboo subjects and bow down to the PC police who run Britain these days. Cough, cough, yeah, you know which groups I'm talkin' 'bout...

Good to see the parrot's not dead yet. I hardly think all that talent needs Robin Williams hanging around though.

@RushO'Hannity I agree with John Cleese's comment! London bears little resemblance to any other English city. It is easy to believe that the majority of people one meets there were not born in the UK and have never travelled anywhere else in the UK.

Hmmm.... Spoken like a true conservative. Your concern for the guy is very touching but I wonder if you know quite how much he donated to Mr Obama's election campaign. Judging from your comments elsewhere it'd seem that John Cleese and yourself have pretty different political views.

lucabrasi - you're totally off topic. This is nothing to do with Obama or his election.

As for the movie - I can't wait. These guys are incredible!

@John

You're absolutely right. I was following old RushO' down his off-topic anti-PC rant. Someone's got to.

Looking forward to the film too.

I bet the movie will be hilarious.

"Micheal Palin"

K-K-K-Ken! K-K-K-comin' to get me! Ha ha ha ha ha ha

"The original Python members... will voice a group of aliens...." Sounds like they're just doing voiceovers for the animated part of the film. Half the fun of the Python skits & movies was the visual antics (especially Cleese). Don't think I'll get my hopes up just yet....

Context, context, context. I doubt he just walked up to you and called you losers from out of the blue. I would guess he was drinking for a reason (maybe to drown his sorrows after another mediocre movie) and you guys were all "Gosh Mr. Williams, it's such an honor to meet you! Can I have your autograph?" Sometimes people just want to drink in silence, and the best way for a celebrity to achieve that is to dump on the people who WON'T leave him alone. As I said that's just a guess, but I've seen it before. Also, you admit he was drunk but still expect him to behave graciously? Most drunks are boorish to a fault. I'm surprised you didn't take that into account.

Python's genius in the 70's was sublime. I personally rank "Holy Grail" as one of the top two greatest comedy movies of all time (the other being Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles".) To this day it's not unusual to have a couple of co-workers start riffing on a scene from "Holy Grail" - almost 40 years after it was made!

So the only REAL question is:

WHAT! ...is your favorite color?!

Will Graham Chapman's ashes have a part in the movie?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

"It's!"

Fish called Wanda, funny. Eric the Red, not so much. More of the former and less of the latter please.

he was drunk and he called me, my friends and others a bunch of little losers an peons.

He hates you for your hairless body. You should have called him an ape, because then I bet he really would have gone ape!

while producers are attempting to sign up the other surviving Python member, Eric Idle, for the project.

I wonder what is up with that. Idle is right there in the picture. What is the problem?

This hasn't been released yet and already it's a classic! Can't wait!

Why Robin Williams? Its not like MP need his talent or jokes.

Why Robin Williams? Its not like MP need his talent or jokes.

Even in his "Mork and Mindy" heyday, Robin Williams was known more for the wide range of voices he could present in dizzying combinations.

Williams will play a talking dog called Dennis, who seems to understand more than anyone else about what happens as a result.

They haven't decided whether to give him a live-action part, yet. Maybe Mork makes a return to Earth?

no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Robin is a loser.

is this show funny ? I don't get it ???

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If it's just their voices, then I'll pass...More than half of the fun of Python is watching their crazy antics!

に!

エキエキエキエキエキフタン、シルッポイン!

If only they'd make stuff like that again. I demand a shrubbery!
