Elvis ain't dead. I've seen him reincarnated in several rock'n'roll avatars like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Idol, and others.

Hail Elvis!

Hare Elvis!

Did you ever the song 'Elvis Everywhere' by Mojo Nixon? He said that Elvis is in everything and everything except Michael J. Fox. He's wrong on the last point.

Donald J Trump has absolutely no Elvis in him, none at all.

It's sad when you think of those terribe contracts that Colonel Tom got him into. That manager was a vampire with dubious ethics. I hold him responsible for the travesty that was Elvis singing "Old MacDonald". Surely the great man's nadir?

If you love the idea of the enduring trashy legend of "not dead" Elvis, I recommend the oddly endearing comedy horror, "Bubba Ho-Tep" where the king is alive and well, albeit living in a care home for elderly citizens and being terrorised by a mummy. Bruce Campbell stars, so expect the usual shenanigans.

Even more surreal is the true story of Orion, a mystery masked Elivis type, who was marketed as... maybe the king?

I've heard about Orion. He was actually murdered in the late 80s and that's when rumors of elvis being alive were really running rampant in America. Many Americans actually believed it. It happened at an opportune time for Cheap Trick. they had just scored their first #1 with 'The Flame' and on the same album was their cover of 'Don't Be Cruel'. So as the ballad stumbled down the charts, what was the follow up single? You guessed it, and it gave Cheap Trick anothe top 5 hit. Two more hits would come from the album they put out in 1988.

Wasn't a fan of Cheap Trick, until I was dragged along to one of their concerts about 20 years ago. I guess if Kurt Cobain liked them, that was enough to make me curious. And yeah, they were alright on the night.
