Popular model Jun Komori, 24, was on hand Monday to play "Gyaru Store Manager for the day" at the Shibuya Center-gai Burger King as a promotion for Coca Cola's new "Fanta Moo Moo White" carbonated dairy-based drink. To lend support, former yokozuna Akebono, 40, tried out a "part time job," greeting customers.
Komori, who was wearing a cow-patterned uniform, sampled the drink in front of customers, exclaiming, "This is so good!! Not only for 'gyaru,' but I bet kids would like it too!"
From Wednesday, Akebono will be appearing in a commercial as the drummer in five-member rock band "Fanta," and while the other members have yet to be announced, big names have been promised.

"Komori, who was wearing a cow-patterned uniform"
She should be pitching Cow Piss.

The demand for carbonated beverages continues to decline, as there are fewer kids to drink them, and adults prefer tea and coffee beverages. The biggest growth product seems to be thermos bottles, into which people wishing to economise may pour tap water from their home spigot.

More Junk...
That's not healthy at all....No more SUGAR, FAT, and SALT..It's becoming epidemic = obesity and child diabetes. Stop pushing this junk on us.
meloveulongtime
saw Akebono here at the Yokota swimming pool....nice guy but he was moving sooooooo slow.
kokorocloud
Ewww... I saw that at the grocery store just last night and I thought to pick one up some other time, but if it's just like Calpis, no thanks.

These new drinks are rarely anything new. Just variations of previous formulas in a fancy new container with a catchy name and slogan. Here today/gone tomorrow.

Lame.

I always trust Akebono and Komori for all my drink selections.

Oh wow does Akebono's sash read 'Part-Timer for the Day'? For crying out loud, at least let him be the manager for the day!

moo moo white? Hard to imagine a group of intelligent folks sitting around the meeting room throwing ideas back and forth and getting excited over moo moo white!!!! Wow the other ideas must have been really crap......or perhaps the brainiacs only had like a 10 second deadline!!

From Yokozuna to an almost fighter in K-1, to a part time greeter, to a drummer. Geeezzz! What's next?

Calpis and Calpis Soda are two very different drinks. I like the soda on emixed with Shouchu on Ice. I will try thins new drink, called moomoo. I hope it is better than that Azuki Pepsi, That was a looser.
Moderator: Please learn the difference between loser and looser.

Moo moo white? That sounds like an international hit.
dammit
Oh my god, that's classic! Thank you mod, after feeling so nauseated at the thought of the dreaded moo moos you've cheered me up and made me feel 100% better! I reckon most of the people on the internet genuinely don't know the difference or how to pronounce the two words. Unbelievable really, but so's the name moo moo.
Never mind the drink though, I'll definitely be giving it a miss.

carbonated dairy-based drink...an idea whose time will never come
AzabuSamurai
its fitting that an over-weight sumo wrestler is the face of this sugar water variation.
okasurferdude
Add it to the list of artificially sweetened, chemical laden, processed crap that continues its steady stream into the market. Just drink non-fat milk, ignore this product and if nobody buys it it will eventually go away...
tokyokawasaki
What a pathetic name.... I wonder how many proposals and meetings they went through to come up with that Jinglish name...

Met Akebono back in the day when he was on the way up. He acted a bit like a jerk making puns on the word "kaku" to my wife. If he wouldn't have squashed my head I would have told him to kaku himself.
aj2o1
What does Calpis taste like? hopefully not cow piss.
Nessie
The Calpis Premium Strawberry is the best new drink I've had in the last 12 months.

Its a reference to the sound of the name, Calpis. It must be an inside joke. Coke has made mistakes before, New Coke, being a fine example.
cactusJack
I bet the label says something like "contains less than 1% milk product" in fine print.
combinibento
I see Makebono is wearing a sash that says "ichinichi arubaito". Looks like this new job is going to last longer than his K-1 career!
bicultural
I love how everyone is dissing this drink before they even taste it. Typical. I will try it.

Thank goodness that we have talento to advise us on the difficult choice of carbonated beverages. It's so confusing !
stevecpfc
I shun these unhealthy carbonated drinks for healthier options like beer or vodka.
jianadaren
I like the sound of "Mu Mu Waito" better than "Karupisu"
How it tastes is another matter...
gogogo
ahh hell no....

Will Coke come out with a Chocolate version of this called "Doo Doo Brown"?

I drank Moo Moo on the choo choo, but I couldn't find anywhere to wee wee...
goddog
I would like some Momo, and not talking real peaches. With shouchu of course. Crush up some ice, fill the glass, and put some shouchu in it. Then get some of this MoMo, and lots of nice momo out there, fill up and sip slowly while waiting for good entertainment. I am definitely going to try this stuff as mixer, but I hope it does not give me a head ache.
Sarge
I tried it. Kinda tastes like vanilla.
benhur
does it contain calcium?
Sarge
It contains 60 mg of calcium per 100 ml, or 300 mg per 500ml bottle. Yer welcome!
Fadamor
So it tastes like cream soda?
Sarge
Fadamor - Something like that. Try it, ya might like it!
loserville
Dumbest quote the staff could have written to give to that thing.
Fadamor
I wonder if the carbon dioxide is adversely reacting with the milk proteins? Six months from now we'll find out the resulting chemical mix results in increased flatulence. :-)
amannin1
Milk doesn't naturally last that long, so i wonder what the expiration date is on these drinks? Anyone tried it yet? Even though I'm lactose intolerant, I am curious to know what it taste like (as I can't imagine it tasting all that great).
PepinGalarga
i'm sure there's 0% natural about it, other than the barely potable water they use as a base.
kyoken
Coca Cola shows a continued lack of understanding their Japanese customers' taste as they bring a new taste on the market every month.
Triumvere
I was inspired to pick up bottle on my way home today... I am drinking it now. I'd say it kind of tastes like cream soda, but with an unplesant under-taste. Think I'll pass next time.
PS. I quite like calpis, it's an excellent mixer.
nath
I would prefer Calpis or SKAL.
movingtokyo
Burger King is giveing them away for free, and they're crap. The whole time I was wishing I was drinking Calpis instead.
Kwaabish
Maybe they should market this exactly at the product name market... like Wisconsin.
realist
This sounds abolulely disgusting. Moo Moo White? Zero points for originality, too. Who dreams up these crass names, and do they actually get paid for it?
Rascal94
Calpiss???...Umnnn
