Since when has any music exec in Japan had his ears open to musical talent. I can say without equivocation that Japan has the worst music of any country in the world.

There are quite a number of good, great and downright interesting and innovative songwriters, performers and bands on the 'indie' scene now, you just have to look for them and patronize them by seeing them play - and the managers and label execs need to get off their butts and sign them. Modern popular music radio in America is clogged with trash. It's a joke.

Jermaine Dupri is alright but he's done much better than that IRRITATING 'Jump Jump'. That song (and anything by Kris Kross) is KRAP.

Glad to see John 'Hoosier' Mellencamp and Kool + the Gang get honored. They deserve it.
