Namie Amuro's 'Checkmate!' to feature 23 artists

Pop superstar Namie Amuro, 33, announced this week that she will be releasing her first Best of Collaborations album. Titled “Checkmate!” the new album, set for release March 23, will feature 13 collaborations and a total of 23 artists.

The album, featuring both Japanese and foreign artists, will also include four all-new songs. Amuro will team for the first time with NEWS frontman Tomohisa Yamashita for one of the new pieces.

Other artists include female singers AI and Ana Tsuchiya, CHEMISTRY's Kaname Kawabata and Korean girl group After School.

Most recently, Amuro embarked on her largest all-Japan tour yet, with 80 performances spanning 8 months. That tour ended in December.

I once had a smokin pic of her on my phone wallpaper. Still have it somewhere. Tight white one piece and long straight hair. Looked better than a hot fudge sundae.

She could incorporated her real-life experience into her music performance; more than that, she has blended R&B of J-Pop and American styles to keep her popularity alive for more than a decade. I have justed previewed some video clips of hers on Youtube. She has added more English sentences in her song lyrics.
