The idea of Netflix is great. It works great and the world desperately needs global distribution of television content (IMO). But I really hope they use the $5 billion to improve their content. I enjoyed it for about a year, watching shows like Breaking Bad, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. But now, I find it hard to find anything useful to watch. It seems like 8 times out of 10, when I look up a movie that I want to watch, they don't have it.
It's funny that the article mentions New Year's resolutions because I was just joking with a friend that one of my NY resolutions is to cancel my Netflix subscription.

I need an answer. Can you see all the same shows as shown in America on NetFlix Japan? I do have a VPN. Should I sign up for the US version, or is the Japanese version ok?

Is it really that bad B-Man?

@shonanbb If you have a vpn and use the Japanese Neflix, it'll automatically show you the US content. That said, I don't know if they check or not and kick you off for Terms of Use violation later. @Marilita: I don't think it's that similar to Hulu (I have both) because Netflix creates its own content and the day it comes out in the US, it also comes out in Japan. For example, Jessica Jones, Making of a Murderer, Bill Murray's Christmas special, Adam Sandler's Ridiculous Six movie all came out on the the same day they did in the US.

@shonanbb - My opinion is I do not enjoy the content nearly as much as I used to when I first signed-up. Just my opinion, others my like the content. But if you have never had it, I would give it a try. To my knowledge, there is no commitment with the subscription and it is easy to cancel at a later date if you don't like it.

If only the movies were the latest. The series takes a long time for the episodes to be shown. You're watching one good one then there's a long pause of when it's gonna be shown again. Why is this so? It's just like the "Hulu" of Japan.
