Will have to see it to believe it.

Other than being a fan, what does this woman have to do with the story?

This has at least one advantage over the previous attempts, by now people already know Netflix tends to destroy the original manga or anime source and make a complete mess of the product, so nobody is expecting something good, it is difficult to make the people disappointed when they are already expecting the worst.

A Netflix adaptation? oh noes here we go again

Another pathetic ruined version of anything, thanks Netflix for another disaster..

All adaptation from manga or anime are a disaster (attack on titan, jojo, Dragon ball, cowboy bebop, etc) except for me GITS and City Hunter (French one).

Pass.

Well, Ghost in a Shell and most slice of life live action anime were decent. I just feel that the producers would have to pull a Marvel or DC-level kind of production quality to bring justice to One Piece, otherwise it would result in a flop. Just look at the Attack on Titan live action, need I say more.

I am worried as hell.

Well, don’t worry as there aren’t any Japanese companies out there willing and able to take on the project so fan or not just let’s show our appreciation for Netflix

Ace can be Luffy's crush instead of his adopted brother.

The only way I would expect this to be worth watching is if were sponsored by Netflix, and produced in Japan or Korea. Or better yet, if it were made independently in the Far East, and then acquired for distribution by Netflix.

Sadly, live action/CGI costs big money and big money kills stuff like this. The first Judge Dredd movie was awful. The lower budget UK one was much better.

Have no expectations and you are less likely to suffer.

Netflix even damaged kdrama, replacing the cathartic ending with a cliffhanger for another series - one which was unlikely to be made. They completely missed the point, steamrollering the product into their template.

People with money believe that because they have money they know best. They are usually wrong.
