Netflix increases U.S., Canada prices with competition growing

At least in Japan, Netflix is kicking the tar out if Amazon Prime IMO.

Amazon Prime has a long way to go with adding subtitles and getting rid of all those dang "add-ons".

Bye bye Netflix!

Just posted in Today’s “Amazon vs. Visa fees”:

Quite odd that Amazon was left out of this article’s ‘free advertising’ for the lower ranked competitors in the streaming market:

“…but others, such as HBO Max and Disney+, have increased in popularity.”

I am unsure about programs Netflix offering say in USA or Canada but in Japan...there is almost nothing normal to watch,except some documentaries about nature...rest...nokomento...

Lot's of kdrama, though. Not complaining. I watch some of them.

That's why I am getting Disney+, now that it is decoupled from greedy NTT Docomo.

still cheaper than paying for NHK, which I don't. LOL!

I unsubbed from Netflix a while ago and don't miss it. It had a huge breadth of stuff that was mostly not great. The only streaming service I use these days is Apple TV+. A pretty limited selection but almost everything on there is phenomenal.

I know it used to be the case that Netflix in Japan actually had the biggest library, having most of what the US market had plus more on top. Not sure if that is still the case.

As long as they don't give you ads like DAZN, a dollar or two extra is OK.

Prime gets some points from me for recently adding all the 007 movies, and also for saving the Expanse when Netflix dumped it.

@bass4funk: Just a shame that YouTube has such a sad interface and don't stream in HDR, Dolby Vision or carry any kind of decent sound codecs. Always strikes me as more of something I'd watch to kill time on the train or watch people who are b and c list reality stars.

Where are the GOOD Japanese streaming sites?

I'm not talking about useless variety shows, the enjoyable ones.

I'd love to see some Hey Hey Hey, Utaban and The Black Mail episodes.

Or stream some old school dramas. Where is the original GTO and Oyaji?

Netflix has lost SO much content over the last 18 months. I now mostly watch content from HBO Max and Disney +. Disney +, is like Netflix, in a global subscription. The US version has a vast amount of content from Nat Geo, and the Japan version has the addition of Star with a a LOT of movies that Netflix have lost.

Netflix is way overhyped, they’re late with getting a lot of the latest shows or movies, they change their lineup too fast and like any other company that gets too big, they think you have no choice but to have it. Yeah, Netflix can stick it where the Sun don’t shine, I prefer YouTube over Netflix any day of the week. Maybe when more people start dropping Netflix they will eventually come to their senses and realize it’s the customer that made the company and not the other way around.
