New AKB48 sister groups to be formed in Manila, Bangkok and Taipei

Japanese mega-popular all-girl idol group AKB48 announced during a concert on Saturday night that they will be forming three new international sister groups in Asia this year.

The new groups will be formed in Manila, Taipei and Bangkok and will be called MNL48, TPE48 and BNK48, respectively.

The sudden announcement appeared on a stage screen during the idols’ Saturday concert at Yokohama Stadium in Kanagawa Prefecture, reading “Three new overseas groups will be storming the world in 2016.” The announcement surprised the audience, which reacted in a loud burst of cheering.

The popular group, founded and produced by Yasushi Akimoto in 2005, currently has two overseas sister groups, JKT48 in Jakarta and SNH48 in Shanghai.

I am waiting for a sister group in Europe. I am an AKB fan living in England and I travel to Japan each year to see them live in concert.

David, I am impressed with your common sense in realizing that AKB is the best thing that ever happened to music. I am so impressed, that I am going on line now to order every single piece of music they ever produced, and fill my walls with their posters.

And I will start saving my Yen to buy tickets to all the concerts of the other soon to be number one, two and three listed world wide groups ever to face mankind.

Wow

Why has David Stanton been given so many thumbs-down?

I'd like to hear about the musical tastes of these people.
