New 'Avatar' film gets rare China release

Starpunk, I understand you because you watched the movie on DVD, try watching again using proper 3D glasses and in a proper theater, then come back here. :)

All the 3D glasses wearing and advanced CG effects can't make up for the lack of originality and stale storyline. I've done the same thing for a movie starring Amanda Heard and it was awful. Totally forgettable, I don't even remember the title. I wasn't the only one feeling that either.

Glad I never saw it then, time watching bad movies is not refundable. Though I admit, I was a huge fan of Cameron after watching 'Titanic'.

That's a RED flag right there. Anything that a government, let alone a one-party state finds to be liking, you know it's no good because it doesn't challenge the viewers with anything. everything has to be 'Orthodox' to their apporoved Big Brother (Maoist) standards. And I say the hell with it.

You ain't missed nothing. And it's also 2.5 hours of your life you'd never get back. I like some Cameron movies too, but a good director does not necessarily a good movie make. Not always. Even the best slip up sometimes and make junk. Remember 'Howard the Duck' from 1986? Don't ask George Lucas about that one, he has totally disavowed that awful piece of disgusting trash altogether. If you ever do see it, you'll know why.

'Avatar' was a cliche-ridden piece of garbage. My cliche meter/BS detector went on overload and I had to toss it into a dumpster, fast. Even the planet that the Pandora moon orbited was a complete rip-off of what the Voyager space probes discovered on planet Jupiter. The 'strands of knowledge' or whatever were a direct rip-off of the rows of pink light bulbs hanging down on the video of 'High On You', a 1985 Top 10 hit for Survivor. I couldn't stand this trash; I saw it on a DVD at a party. Glad I didn't pay to see it.

And now 13 years later Hollyweird is getting on this 'Top Gun' bandwagon with a sequel that we know won't be any good. And now Chinese theaters will be showing this puke too. You couldn't pay me to see this rubbish!
