Nintendo announces new 'Zelda' movie

Legend of Zelda co-creator Shigeru Miyamoto revealed in a post on Twitter Tuesday that the Zelda movie project has actually been in the works for many years.

This is Miyamoto. I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega hit films.

The co-production is more than 50% funded by Nintendo, so Nintendo would retain creative control, like they did with The Super Mario Bros movie with Universal Pictures
