Actress Norika Fujiwara, 39, and TV personality Masaaki Sakai, 64, will be the hosts of this year's 52nd annual Japan Record Awards on the TBS network on Dec 30. The event is a major music show held annually in Japan at which the gongs handed out will include the top prize and the best newcomer award.
This year will mark the 15th consecutive appearance by Sakai and the 2nd by Fujiwara. Sakai said of the performers, "There are plenty of talented singers left in Japan." Fujiwara said she enjoys the job of co-host because she loves music.
The pair will be assisted by TV presenters Shinichiro Azumi, 37, presenter Sylvia Kato, 24, and Erina Masuda, 24.
The show will be broadcast from 6:30 p.m.
