Great band, from back when the UK was a much better country than it is these days.

Good on the Gallagher lads for getting back together, wish I could be there for one of the gigs! Definitely, Maybe is one of the best albums of the 90s.

Saw them at Makuhari in their final days, they were rubbish. It was obvious they were done, Our kid just left the stage whenever he wasn't singing. Then again it was a dry concert and the crowd were as bad as the band.

Made some great music though, looking forward to them play again someday.

I was sure never a fan of their music. I know blatant Beatles rip offs when I hear it. But a very good live band when the singer could behave himself.

The fact that the brothers weren’t scornful of the eunich crowds singing Don’t Look Back in Anger as a response of the bombing of the Arianna Grande concert says it all.

The Stones are filthy rich. They don't need the money. Jagger's estate has a value of $600mil. Keith around $500mil. I don't know about Metallica but I imagine that U2 aren't exactly struggling.

The Stones have been around since the 60's and have released over 30 albums. Oasis...just 7.

I don’t think Oasis set out to be particularly sophisticated.

Doesn’t need to be ‘deep’ to be good.

Give the Ramones a listen. Learn guitar for a few months and you could probably play along.

It was a 'gift' that we could not refuse. The 2013 album ('Songs of Surrender') was added to the music library of every iPhone user. They didn't even ask, it just appeared on your phone. And it was rubbish.

It was their last album and the last time Apple tried such duplicity.

The last good U2 album was 'Achtung Baby' in '91. The 'Pop' thing was embarrassing.

Despite that and Bono they are still legendary. Saw them at Dodger Stadium in '92, what a night that was.

I've never been one to crap on bands - music is subjective and we all like what we like.

But Oasis is one of those bands who I could never get behind. It sounds like whining put to whining guitar for me.

I know people love them though, so I'm sure many will be very happy about these shows.

Leicester are stitched on to get points deducted. Ipswich don't look good enough. I can't see Saints, Brentford nor Wolves not struggling. I reckon you might have enough once August ends. Everton are awful in August.

Apparently the 115 Citeh charges are going to be decided this season. If guilty, they'll be relegated. Would spoil the Oasis comeback a bit.

For me, it was a time where the music matched with life. I think we all have it at some point.

Only really happens when you are young.

It took a bit for me to get used to Liam's singing style, but it did grow on me. "Champagne Supernova" and "Don't Look Back in Anger" were on my list of go-to songs back when I went to karaoke, though "The Girl in the Dirty Shirt" is probably my favorite Oasis song to listen to.

Maybe they have. I saw Noel and his High Flying Birds in the winter of 2018 and the show was excellent! Noel at least seems to have matured over time and Liam's 'C'mom, Let' Go' CD also reflects some personal growth.

Maybe these guys needed the time away from either other. What turned me off back then was Liam popping off the chops about how Oasis was 'better' than U2, Stones, Beatles, etc. And this was when the Beatles Anthology came out too. The nerve.

That was about 30 years ago. People can change.

The only notes that really count are the ones that come in wads.

There's a great opinion piece in The Guardian today that takes the p--- out of Noel and Liam.

I'm personally ambivalent (could care less really), and prefer baroque chamber music, but to each their own.

For once, I do have to agree with you, can't believe it.

Oasis was a key inspirational and innovative band from the early 90s back when more and more upcoming musicians wanted to get away from the synthpop sound that defined the 80s music scene and go back to their traditional roots of playing live old-fashioned and raw instruments. Indie, Grunge, and Britpop Vibe were the new emerging genres, while the British clubs were playing House, German Techno, and the US Afro and acid Jazz that became people on both sides of the continent along with Rap, Hip Hop, the music scene was having a new facelift and as far as the Britpop movement was concerned Oasis was just the hit "it" band, they had catchy melodies and lyrics that reflect British culture similar to Paul Weller.

Their music is centered around electric and acoustic guitars, with powerful riffs and solos. Noel Gallagher’s guitar is no slouch when it comes to being the main glue that holds the band together. They had so many songs that often had memorable hooks and sing-along choruses. Hits like "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger" are just classics that just stick in your head. Liam Gallagher’s unique voice adds a raw, emotional touch to their music, they were great as long as they didn't start to beat the crap out of each other.

And you can see where these guys draw their music inspiration from which is classic rock and pop bands like The Beatles, as aforementioned Paul Weller and The Rolling Stones taking inspiration from them and creating a new style that was a smash in the UK as well as globally which gave their music a modern twist.

Hell is a place where the only soundtrack is 21st century popular music.
